Blackburn ready for summer shake-up

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Lambert is confident that the club’s owners Venky’s will allow him to splash-the-cash in the hope of securing promotion back to the Premier League.

The former Norwich City and Aston Villa manager has signed four players on loan since joining the club in the form of strikers Danny Graham and Tony Watt, along with midfielders Jordi Gomez and Matt Grimes. It is understood that Blackburn have already agreed a deal with Cardiff City to sign Watt on a permanent deal.

Several players have already been linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers including Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew, who is out of contract in the summer.

The Championship club is expected to allow several first team players to leave the club with midfielders Chris Taylor, Lee Williamson and Craig Conway falling out-of-favour under the new regime. Other players expected to depart are defender Matthew Kilgallon and striker Chris Brown, who is yet to score since joining in 2014.
