Krankie Karanka set for Boro exit

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka is reportedly on the brink of leaving the club following a fall-out with his players after questioning their desire to win promotion this season. The 42-year-old Spaniard, who took charge at the Riverside in November 2013, is believed to have stormed out of a team meeting prior to their game against Charlton on Sunday.

Boro have won just three of their past 10 games and are seven points behind leaders Burnley with two games in hand.

A host of managers including former Newcastle manager Steve McClaren, who is expected to be interested in a return to the Riverside should Karanka leave the Championship club.
