Newcastle’s search continues

Bernd Schuster

Newcastle United are still without a permanent manager three weeks after Alan Pardew left the club to join Crystal Palace.

A host of names have been linked with the job with Steve McClaren, Tim Sherwood and Eddie Howe all ruling themselves out of the running after all being tipped as the man to replace Pardew. The latest name to be linked with the job is 55-year-old Bernd Schuster as Mike Ashley continues his search for a long-term head coach to take over from caretaker boss John Carver.

Former Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster is now into 3/1 from 100/1 to be the next Newcastle manager.
