West Brom head coach Tony Pulis is lining up a £5 million bid for in-form Blackburn Rovers striker Rudy Gestede.
The 26-year-old frontman has overshadowed highly-rated strike partner Jordan Rhodes so far this season and has become a fans’ favourite since joining for a reported £800,000 from Cardiff City in January 2014.
Pulis is looking to change the way West Brom play and has highlighted Gestede as the ideal striker to lead the line as they look to remain in the Premier League. It remains unclear as to whether Rovers will look to cash in on Gestede due to a transfer embargo, which only allows them to sign free-agents or players on loan.
The Lancashire club turned down a £12 million bid from Hull City for Jordan Rhodes in the summer and with promotion the target for Gary Bowyer’s side, keeping hold of Gestede would appear to be crucial.
