QUIZ: Premier League 2018/19 Summer Transfers

Can you name every 2018/19 summer transfer to a Premier League club over £10 million?

Excitement builds during every transfer window, but there’s no beating the summer transfer window, as it’s where most of the larger signings are made in preparation for the following season.

Hype remains around acquisitions made within the January transfer window, but it’s become a tradition for a large portion of every club’s transfers to happen during the summer due to it being a period where managers establish their squad in an attempt to plan who stays, who leaves, and who they look to bring in before the start of the new campaign.

Prior to the opening fixture in the 2018/19 Premier League season, most of the division’s top sides made distinctly hefty transfers in hope of improving upon what they already had at the end of the previous term. Manchester City filled in any minor gaps in their squad after seamlessly winning the league in the 2017/18 season, Manchester United brought in a few unknown players, Chelsea acquired players that suited Maurizio Sarri’s fresh style, Liverpool continued to build on the empire being created by Jurgen Klopp, Arsenal began a new era under Unai Emery, and Spurs opted against bringing in a single new player.

Maurizio Sarri Chelsea

Chelsea spent the most on a single player in the summer transfer window before the 2018/19 Premier League season, Maurizio Sarri bringing in one player for £72 million.

As football transfers are one of the most exciting aspects of the sport, we’ve decided to reflect on the summer transfers from the 2018/19 window, where there was millions of pounds spent once again. Our quiz recounts every transfer to an English club which possesses a fee above £10 million, equating to forty-seven names in total.
