Saturday night football see’s champions elect Manchester City travel to Wembley to face Tottenham, so we thought we’d take a look at the sides the last time City travelled down to London to take on Spurs back in 2016. These two have produced some spectacular games over the years, including City’s 6-0 hammering of Spurs back in 2013 and Peter Crouch’s late winner to give Spurs the final Champions League place back in 2010. With City now 5 points away from the Premier League title and Spurs still pushing for 2nd place in the League they could be set to produce another classic this weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s City side come into this one on the back of easily their worst week of the season. A 5-1 aggregate defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League with a 3-2 defeat in the Manchester derby in between, Guardiola’s side find themselves on the back of 3 defeats in a row, just one loss less than the rest of the season combined.  They still however find themselves in a comfortable position to regain the Premier League title needing just 5 points from their final 6 games to take the Premier League crown. City have been in scintillating form all season long up to this point and still have the chance to set the Premier League record for most points and wins over a Premier League season, a testament to how good Guardiola’s side have been. With the Premier League now there only focus you’d expect City to wrap up the title soon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side come in to this after 6 consecutive wins in the Premier League. In fact Spurs are unbeaten in the League since December when they were beaten by Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad. Spurs are now unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League games winning 11 of them and now find themselves almost guaranteed a Champions League place for next season. Last weekends 2-1 victory over Stoke and Chelsea’s 1-1 with West Ham has seen Spurs get themselves a 10 point gap on Chelsea in the final Champions League place and now Spurs are battling with Manchester United and Liverpool in the race for 2nd.
