Next Everton Manager Odds

Everton have sacked manager Frank Lampard following a run of just three wins in the Toffees' opening 19 matches of the Premier League season, here we have taken a look at candidates to replace the Chelsea legend at Goodison Park.

Since arriving at Everton on 31st January last year, Lampard’s record was less than desirable, having won 12 and drawn eight of his 44 matches in charge, equating to a win percentage of just 27.3%.

Next season will be the final campaign that Everton will play at Goodison Park before they make the move across to Bramley Moore Dock for the 2024/25 campaign, so the Toffees will be hoping to do everything they can to avoid playing their last season at Goodison Park in the championship, having called it home since 1892.

Sean Dyche Odds: 1/50

Former Burnley manager Sean Dyche is the overwhelming favourite for the vacancy at Everton, having been linked with the Toffees on multiple occasions while manager of the Clarets.

In his nine years at Turf Moor, Dyche built himself a reputation for being able to manage low-budget sides to success, having earned promotion from the Championship with the Clarets in 2013/14 and 2015/16 while maintaining Burnley’s Premier League status up until his sacking in 2021/22.

During his time at Burnley, Dyche even lead the club to the Europa League qualifying stages following a seventh-place finish in the 2017/18 campaign.

Due to his experience and know-how when it comes to keeping teams in the division, Dyche could be a good option for Everton. On top of this, the Toffees have some key personnel that the ex-Burnley man is familiar with, having got the best out of Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil during his time at Turf Moor.

Dyche is priced at 1/50 to become Everton’s next manager - click on the link to claim this bet in your bet slip!

Davide Ancelotti Odds: 16/1

Recent reports have suggested that Carlo Ancelotti’s son, Davide, would like to become the new manager of Everton, having previously worked alongside his dad as assistant manager between 2019 and 2021.

Davide has helped Carlo at a series of high-profile clubs such as Bayern Munich, Napoli and Real Madrid as well as the Toffees, and is seen as a modern coach, having worked his way up from a fitness coach to becoming an assistant manager, leading Everton’s training sessions alongside Duncan Ferguson when he was part of the coaching staff at Goodison Park.

Notably, the 33-year-old has taken charge of one game, as following the suspension of his father, Carlo, he would step up as manager for Napoli away at Roma back in November 2019, with the match resulting in a 2-1 loss, with Jordan Veretout scoring the winner from the penalty spot despite Napoli having 16 shots and 57% possession.

Davide Ancelotti is priced at 16/1 to make a stunning return to Goodison Park as their next manager.

Marcelo Bielsa Odds: 20/1

Ex-Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has dropped to second favourite for the Everton job, despite Farhad Moshiri being desperate to appoint the Argentinian due to his impressive attacking style of play.

The 67-year-old was a cult hero at Elland Road, having earned the Whites promotion from the Championship in the 2019/20 season via winning the division as a whole. He also managed to consolidate their position in the Premier League during the 2020/21 campaign but was sacked following a poor performance in the following season.

During his time at Leeds, Bielsa won 81 of his 170 matches in charge, leaving him with a win percentage of 47.6%. In his managerial career, he has managed several impressive clubs, such as America, Velez Sarsfield, Athletic Bilbao and Marseille, while also coaching Argentina’s and Chile’s national teams.

Bielsa is priced at 5/4 to return to the Premier League as manager of Everton.

Wayne Rooney Odds: 20/1

Wayne Rooney has been linked with the job at Everton, having been reportedly close to joining them last season.

Rooney has a mixed relationship with fans of the Toffees having left them in 2004 when he was just 18 years old to join Manchester United, but, has stated on several occasions that he is a fan of the club that he made 98 league appearances for.

The 37-year-old is currently a manager of MLS outfit DC United having left Derby County after their relegation from the Championship last season. Rooney has initially taken over the Rams in November 2020 following the sacking of Phillip Cocu, managing to keep the Rams in the Championship in 2020/21 on the last day of the season having initially taken over when they were at the bottom of the table.

Last season, Derby were been plagued with off-the-field issues which saw them have 21 points deducted from their overall tally, as well as transfer embargoes, but, Rooney vowed to fight on and has managed to oversee his side earn 55 points in total including the deducted amount - this would have been enough to finish 17th in the table.

Rooney is priced at 20/1 to make a second return to Everton, but, this time as manager of the Goodison Park club.

Ralph Hasenhuttl Odds: 20/1

Recently sacked Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is also reportedly on Everton’s shortlist to replace Lampard.

Hassenhuttl was clearly a Premier League standard manager during his time at St Mary’s, having done well with a limited budget and playing squad with the Saints, winning 59 and drawing 41 of his 173 matches.

Prior to his time at Southampton, Hasenhuttl managed to finish second with RB Leipzig in their debut Bundesliga season. The 55-year-old also won promotion to the Bundesliga with Ingolstadt in 2014/15 before consolidating their status in the top flight.

Hasenhuttl is priced at 20/1 to succeed Lampard as Everton manager.

Nuno Espirito Santo Odds: 20/1

Former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo is also in the frame to succeed Lampard at Everton.

The 48-year-old currently manages Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad where he has won seven and drawn four of his first 12 matches in charge. Prior to this, Nuno had been Tottenham's manager, but, his reign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium lasted just 17 matches before being sacked.

The Portuguese coach was a huge fan favourite at Wolves, having managed them 199 times, winning 95 and drawing 49 between May 2017 and May 2021, when he left of his own accord. Nuno famously won the Championship with them in 2017/18, and even oversaw their seventh-place Premier League finish in 2018/19 - a feat which qualified his side for the Europa League.

Nuno is priced at 20/1 to become Everton’s next manager.

Sam Allardyce Odds: 25/1

Sam Allardyce is priced at 40/1 to make a shock return to Goodison Park, having helped guide the Toffees away from a relegation scrap in the 2017/18 campaign.

Prior to his most recent role at West Bromwich Albion in 2020/21, the 68-year-old had a good record of keeping sides in the Premier League, having consolidated the likes of Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, West Ham United and Sunderland’s places in the top-flight.

Allardyce, who also had a brief spell as England manager in his 30-year managerial career would likely have the personnel to achieve his aims at Everton, as they have experience in defence and midfield, while also having the personnel to play a more direct style of football when Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit.

Everton are priced at 25/1 to re-appoint ‘Big Sam' as manager.

Carlos Corberan Odds: 25/1

Current West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan has been linked with the job at Goodison Park, with rumours circulating that the Baggies boss had held talks with the Toffees.

Since joining West Brom, the Birmingham-based club have seen a drastic turnaround in form, as having taken the job when they were in the Championship's relegation zone, the 39-year-old Spaniard has won ten and drawn one of his 14 matches in charge - a win percentage of 71.43%.

Corberan earned many plaudits last season, when he took an unfancied Huddersfield Town side to the play-off final, only to lose to Nottingham Forest. In between the two aforementioned managerial spells, he managed Olympiakos but was sacked after winning just two of his 11 games in charge.

Having formerly been Bielsa's assistant manager at Leeds, perhaps Everton's board see the former Valencia goalkeeper as a good option to fulfil the style of play that they desire.

Everton are priced at 25/1 to name Corberan as their next manager.

Marcelino Odds: 20/1

Former Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelino has found himself in the running for the Everton job according to reports from Spain.

The 57-year-old only managed the Basque club between January 2021 and May 2022, however, he did show that he is tactically astute during that time, leading them to a Supercopa de Espana win in his first half season, while also managing them to back-to-back Copa del Rey finals, finishing as runners-up in both.

Marcelino is no stranger to managing big clubs that have struggled due to powers above the manager, having done so at Valencia between May 2017 and September 2019, winning 55 and drawing 29 of his 110 matches in charge, while winning a Copa del Rey in 2019, beating Barcelona in the final thanks to goals by Kevin Gameiro and Rodrigo Moreno.

The Spaniard gained notoriety with Recreativo Huelva between 2005 and 2007, winning the Segunda Division in 2005/06, before consolidating their place in the top flight. He then left the club to join Racing Santander, where he would finish sixth place in the 2007/08 season, a club record that still stands today.

Other impressive feats that the Spaniard has managed have seen him earn promotion to La Liga with Real Zaragoza in 2008/09, as well as managing three top-six finishes with Villarreal between January 2013 and August 2016.

Having shown his capabilities as a manager in Spain, Marcelino could be a great candidate to lead Everton out of their current predicament.

Marcelino is priced at 20/1 to become the Toffees’ next manager.

David Moyes Odds: 25/1

West Ham United manager David Moyes has been linked with a return to Everton, despite his struggles at the London Stadium this campaign.

Moyes has been manager of the Hammers since December 2019 and has offered the club a stable platform to grow due to his excellent management skills. The 59-year-old notably did this throughout his time at Everton between March 2002 and June 2013, helping the Toffees progress from a bottom-half outfit to one that would expect to compete to qualify for European football.

Having done it once before, could Moyes be the perfect man to provide Everton with stability?

Everton are priced at 25/1 to appoint Moyes as their next manager.

Mauricio Pochettino Odds: 33/1

Could Pochettino return to England with Everton? It would be a huge surprise but having seen the likes of Carlo Ancelotti move to Goodison Park, who knows what could happen?

The 50-year-old was most recently manager of PSG and has missed out on a series of big jobs since his exit from the Parc des Princes.

Pochettino’s first job in England came when he managed Southampton between January 2013 and May 2014, taking over from Nigel Adkins, laying the foundations for the Saints to challenge for Europe on a regular basis, having developed the likes of Adam Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, Jose Fonte, Toby Alderweireld, Morgan Schneiderlin and more.

Following his time at St Mary’s, Pochettino went on to manage Tottenham, where he elevated them from Europa League fodder to a side that regularly competed for Champions League football - notably reaching the Champions League final in 2019.

After his time at Spurs, Pochettino returned to former club PSG, where he managed to win three trophies in two years, but, this and his lack of success in the Champions League saw patience wear thin between himself and the PSG hierarchy, resulting in his departure last summer.

With the Toffees being a side that have spent a lot of money and entering an era where they have an ambitious project with a new stadium, could Pochettino be tempted to try and be the man to turn their fortunes around?

Pochettino is priced at 33/1 to join Everton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Odds: 40/1

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been without a job since being sacked by the Old Trafford club in November 2021.

The 49-year-old’s time as manager of United may have been tainted by his final few months in charge, but, what must be remembered is that he overachieved in seasons running up to the 2021/22 campaign, managing third and second-place finishes in his only full campaigns in charge of the Old Trafford club, while reaching a Premier League record of 29 away games without defeat in the process.

Prior to becoming United manager, Solskjaer had managed Molde twice, winning two Norwegian Tippeligaens and a Norwegian Football Cup while being instrumental in developing talents such as Erling Haaland.

Solskjaer is priced at 40/1 to replace Lampard as Everton's manager.
