Roy Keane now sits as the favourite to take the reigns as the Salford City boss with odds of 1/2, which has been slashed from 6/1 in the past few days.
The fiery Irishman has been seen brutally criticising and scowling over today’s top players, doing punditry work over the past few years, and it looks like we may see him make a return to management.
Keane’s last coaching position lasted five months as assistant at his former club Nottingham Forest at the start of last year, with his last managerial role coming with Ipswich back in 2011.
A reunion with his former Manchester United teammates could help sway a deal, with Keane working for owners he can trust to help him to the best of their abilities. Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, David Beckham and Ryan Giggs will know exactly the type of ruthless manager they’ll be getting, and no doubt Keane will be satisfied working for them, given his brutal nature.
At odds of 1/2, it seems this one could be done soon.
