Swansea City are on the lookout for a new manager, with Graham Potter leaving to join Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 44-year-old had only been at the Liberty Stadium for one season, joining them in the summer of 2018 from Swedish side Ostersunds. But he is on the move, with the Seagulls having called a press conference to announce his appointment at the AMEX where he will replace Chris Hughton.
During his short reign at the Swans it would be fair to say that Potter has done a good job. When he took over they had just been relegated from the Premier League, but he had to oversee plenty of changes to the playing staff with many of their better players leaving during his tenure.
Despite that he still managed to secure a tenth placed finish, and had his team playing a positive brand of football which was pleasing on the eye. It speaks volumes that the club were desperate to keep hold of him, even offering him a new contract to try and tempt him to reject Brighton's advances and stay.
But he will now move on, which leaves his post in South Wales now vacant. We have taken a look at the bookmakers odds to see who the favourites are to replace Potter as the next Swansea City manager.
Cameron Toshack favourite to become next Swansea manager
The early favourite with bookmakers is a man who certainly has a name which means a lot around Swansea, Cameron Toshack. He is the son of the club's former manager John Toshack, who also famously managed Real Madrid and the Welsh national team.
Cameron has enjoyed a long career in coaching, initially working with Neath Athletic in the Welsh Premier League before joining the staff for the Macedonia national team following the appointment of his father. During his time coaching there, the country rose from 103 to 81 in the FIFA World Rankings.
In 2013 he moved to Swansea City, initially as the clubs under-18's manager where he won two youth titles. He then moved up to the under-23 side and had success there too, guiding them to the Premier league 2 Division 2 title in 2017.
It would certainly be an interesting appointment, especially given that he has no previous experience in managing a first team. But the fact that he has played a pivotal role in the development of the likes of Oliver McBurnie, Jay Fulton and other youngsters now in the Swansea first team may be the reason why he will be considered for the role.
Paddy Power are currently offering odds of 15/8 for Toshack to be named as the next manager of Swansea City. Other contenders include the Newport County manager Michael Flynn who has guided the Exiles into the League Two play-offs, and former manager Garry Monk who is currently at Birmingham City. Both are priced at 6/1 to take over at the Liberty Stadium.
