Claudio Ranieri Fulham

Claudio Ranieri Watford Odds

Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri is the favourite to get the vacant managerial role at Vicarage Road.

The 69-year-old Italian is best known for his time at the Foxes, where he managed to win the Premier League title in the 2015/16 season against all odds ahead of Tottenham Hotspur. Ranieri has many high profile clubs on his managerial CV, having coached the likes of Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus.

Ranieri's last Premier League managerial role came with Fulham in the 2018/19 season between November 2018 and February 2019 where he was unable to get the instant results that the Cottagers required, being sacked after just 17 games in charge, winning three, drawing three and losing 11. Since then, the Italian has managed Roma on an interim basis, where he won six, drew four and lost just twice in 12 matches in charge between March and May in 2019, as well as taking over Sampdoria between 2019 and 2021 leading them to 15th and ninth-placed finishes before announcing that he wouldn't be renewing his contract with the club.

Ranieri is priced at 1/20 to become Watford's next manager.

Chris Hughton Watford odds

Chris Hughton is also on this list of managers that are rumoured to be in contention to replace Xisco Munoz and the 62-year-old is currently out of a job having being sacked at Nottingham Forest.

Hughton has good amounts of Premier League experience as he earned Newcastle United promotion to the top-flight in the 2009/10 season and was controversially sacked in December 2019, before managing to keep Norwich in the Premier League in the 2012/13 campaign, before being sacked late on in the following season due to the Canaries struggles to stay in the division.

The former Tottenham coaches most recent Premier League spell came with Brighton & Hove Albion having earned promotion to the top-flight with the Seagulls in the 2016/17 season, before laying their current foundations until he was relieved of his duties in May 2019.

The 62-year-old was most recently manager of Nottingham Forest between October 2020 and September 2021 where he struggled to make an impression, having a win percentage of just 26.4% from 53 matches, having won just 14 times.

There is no doubting Hughton's managerial credentials, as barring his job at Forest, he has done an adequate job at every club he has been at, hence why he is priced at 3/1 to become Watford's next manager.

Roy Keane Watford Odds

Former Manchester United captain and Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane is also on this list of managers that has been linked with the job at Vicarage Road.

The 50-year-old Cork-born manager comes in at 3/1, despite his last managerial job being all the way back in January 2011 with Ipswich Town, where he was sacked after winning just 28 times in 81 matches. Keane is fondly remembered for his time at Sunderland between August 2006 and December 2008 as the Irishman earned promotion to the Premier League with the Black Cats in the 2006/07 season, before consolidating their place in the next campaign and then resigning in December 2008.

Since his two experiences as a manager, Keane has been the assistant manager to former Celtic teammate Paul Lambert at Aston Villa, as well as assistant to Martin O'Neill with the Republic of Ireland senior side and Nottingham Forest.

Keane is well known for being desperate to get into a senior managerial role and is priced at 3/1 to become Watford's next manager.

Eddie Howe Watford Odds

One of the more in-demand managers, Eddie Howe, has been linked with many clubs since departing Bournemouth after eight years in charge. One of the clubs is Watford who were relegated to the Championship alongside the cherries this season.

Eddie Howe has seen incredible amounts of success with Bournemouth in recent years, after gaining them promotion in, 2015 for the first time in their club’s history. The 42-year-old then proceeded to keep them in the Premier League for five seasons with their highest position finished being ninth.

With Howe taking a well-deserved escape from football, there is speculation of how long that will be. The former Cherries boss is now priced at 3/1 to sign as Watford’s next manager and Howe could be an outsider to consider for Watford's next manager.

Chris Wilder Watford Odds

Chris Wilder comes in at 3/1 for the job at Watford.

The 53-year-old hasn’t had a job since he left Sheffield United back in March, departing with the club on 14 points after 28 games.

Wilder is a manager that has worked his way up the divisions, having started at the likes of Halifax Town, before moving to Oxford United, where he lead them to promotion via Conference Premier play-offs in 2010, before moving to Sixfields to Northampton Town where he won the League Two title with 99 points in 2015/16.

The former Oxford man was a huge fan favourite at Bramall Lane, having led the club from a mid-table position in League One, to the Premier League via two automatic promotions in 2016/17 and 2018/19, before finishing ninth in the top flight last campaign, the Blades best league finish since the 1991/92 season.
