Yeovil Town find themselves on the lookout for a new manager after they decided to part company with long-time manager Darren Way.
The 39-year-old had been in charge of the Glovers since December 2015 and only agreed a new contract until 2021 last November. However a string of poor performances since then has seen Yeovil plummet down the League Two table, they now sit in 22nd and just two points above the relegation zone which has led to the clubs hierarchy sacking the manager.
"Whilst Darren's dedication, strong work ethic and potential are all clear, the board of directors has been compelled to act as the run of form in 2019 is not acceptable," Yeovil said.
Neale Marmon, who is the club's first-team coach, will take temporary charge for the remaining seven matches of the season. Once the campaign is finished, Yeovil will then look to appoint Way's permanent successor.
But who will that be? We have taken a look at the odds with BetVictor to see who could potentially take over at Huish Park.
Darrell Clarke favourite to become next Yeovil Town manager
The early favourite to become the next manager at Yeovil Town is Darrell Clarke, with BetVictor offering odds of 1/1 for him to get the job.
Clarke has been out of work since parting company with Bristol Rovers earlier in the season, but the work he did with them has enhanced his reputation in the lower leagues. He guided the Gas from the National League into League One with back-to-back promotions and consolidated their position in the third tier.
He also did some excellent work as a player-manager at Salisbury City, winning the Southern League Premier Division play-offs in 2010/11 before then claiming another play-off success in the Conference South.
He left Bristol Rovers by mutual consent and is now looking for his next challenge, could that be Yeovil? One thing is for sure they will certainly need to stay up in League Two as it is unlikely that the 41-year-old would drop back into non-league.
What other managers could Yeovil appoint?
As for other potential candidates, the bookmakers have the man in caretaker charge Neale Marmon as the second favourite. It has already been confirmed that he will oversee their final seven matches of the season and should he do well and keep the club in League Two then he may have a chance of getting the job on a permanent basis.
He has limited first team management experience, with a few stints in the lower leagues of German football including SC Preußen Münster his only jobs in his career so far, and has even been managed an amateur side out. This therefore is definitely a step up for him, so it will be interesting to see how he fares. Marmon's odds to get the Yeovil managers job full-time are currently 4/1.
Paul Hurst is the third favourite with odds of 5/1. The former Shrewsbury Town manager hasn't been in work since being sacked by Ipswich Town earlier this season, but will be keen to get back into it ahead of the 2019/20 campaign. However the 44-year-old is the favourite with bookmakers to become the next Scunthorpe United manager, which would be a more attractive proposition for him given they are likely to be a league higher.
Other names on the list include Kevin Nolan who is priced at 8/1, Phil Brown at 10/1 whilst former Peterborough United chief Steve Evans is in at 12/1.
