Paris Saint-Germain have come to be considered as one of Europe’s most elite clubs because of their takeover by the Qatari Sports Investment group in 2011. This windfall has allowed for the Ligue 1 side to spend hundreds of millions and capture the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the two most expensive transfer fees in football history, costing a staggering combined fee of £367 million.
Since the takeover, PSG have only failed to win the French league title twice, winning a total of eight and breaking the points record in 2015-16 with 96 points overall. In addition to the league titles, PSG have accumulated an amazing 17 other domestic trophies since 2011, highlighting just how dominant they have become in French football in recent years.
However, the one trophy that has eluded the Ligue 1 giants and is so desperately sought after by fans and owners, is the UEFA Champions League. Despite a host of elite-level managers employed at the club and along with players such as Zlatan Ibrahimović and Neymar, PSG have yet to find success in Europe’s most elite competition.
Carlo Ancelotti, Lauren Blanc and Unai Emery have all tried their hand at attaining European success, but all failed and inevitably lost their managerial jobs in the French capital as a result.
Today's manager, Thomas Tuchel, has currently followed in his predecessor’s footsteps, failing to pass the round of 16. Could this perhaps prompt his employers to seek out a replacement for the German?
Here we take a look at the Paddy Power markets for PSG's next manager odds.
