Solskjaer's days at Manchester United look numbered unless the Norwegian can pull together a string a more than impressive performances. And, naturally with this, comes the reports of Pochettino to United.
According to the Daily Mail, back when Mourinho was sacked as manager of United, the club's legendary figure of Sir Alex Ferguson wanted Pochettino in charge of the club instead of Solskjaer.
Now, almost two years on from the ex-striker's managerial appointment, United are back at square one, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that the club have contacted Pochettino about becoming the club's next manager, following the 2-1 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir.
It can certainly be perceived that United are an elite club and that this could be the right project that Pochettino is looking for. Although, United's situation has crippled some of the world's elite both in a coaching role and for those playing on the pitch, and Pochettino taking this role could be too much for even his powers and seriously hamper what is, for now, prestigious reputation.
However, as time rolls on, it's clear who the United fans want and it may just be a matter of time until we see the 2016/17 Premier League runner-up on the Old Trafford sideline - odds for Pochettino joining United next are at 1/2.
