Europa League Winner Odds

The Europa League is back on Thursday night, as teams currently in the competition play their third group game of the competition so far. In terms of predicting a winner of the Europa League, it’s often best to wait until after the group stages once the eight third-placed sides from the Champions League have dropped into the competition before calling a winner.

Last term, Atletico Madrid suffered an early exit from Europe’s top competition into Thursday night football and went on to win the competition against Marseille, who had spent the entire campaign in the Europa League.

Here, we look at the current favourites in the competition prior to the post-Christmas knockout stages, with the English sides heavily favoured at this early stage.

Chelsea at 5/1 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Currently favourites to go all the way in the Europa League this season are Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea. They have won each of their first two group matches in the competition, though they are yet to be severely tested but are yet to concede a goal. Sarri’s team are expected to breeze through a group which features PAOK, BATE and Mol Vidi and have arguably the best player in the competition in Eden Hazard. Winners of the Europa League in 2013, they have previous experience in this tournament and look to have the required strength needed to go all the way this time around.

Arsenal at 15/2 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Following Chelsea as second-favourites to go all the way are Premier League rivals Arsenal at 15/2. This is the second successive season in which the Gunners have been in the Europa League and were just one game away from the final in 2017/18, losing to eventual winners Atletico Madrid over two legs. It is a competition which last season proved to be their best hope of securing Champions League football and so far Unai Emery has persisted with playing strong teams in the competition. The Emery factor is also something which should not be underestimated, with the Spaniard being a three-time winner of the Europa League with Sevilla between 2014-16. He knows what it takes to win this competition and has always taken it seriously – something which can’t be said of all managers of English clubs that are in it.

Sevilla at 16/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

There are few clubs that love the Europa League as much as Sevilla do. As previously mentioned, the La Liga outfit won in three years in a row in 2014. 2015 and 2016, an unprecedented feat and have a total of five victories in this competition, all of which have come since 2006. Sevilla take great pride in their record in the Europa League and look to again have a competitive team which will pose a threat for any opposing team, particularly at home. They currently sit just two points off of league leaders Barcelona in La Liga and were top of the table as recently as the weekend, before losing 4-2 away to the Catalan giants. Starting this year in the qualifiers, they have already played eight matches in the Europa League this term, winning all four at home and scoring 13 goals in the process.
