LISTEN: Harry Redknapp calls Gary Neville a disgrace

Harry Redknapp left little down to interpretation this morning during his appearance on TalkSport, after laying into Gary Neville following his recent comments about Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on Sky’s Monday Night Football, Neville said: “Tottenham for 30 years of our lives were spineless and soft, flaky, rubbish, you could be 2-0 down against them and think you would win 5-2.

“That’s just the way they were. You knew that one little bump during the game and they would fall over it.

“Now we have the toughest, robust, most resilient Tottenham team that we have seen and we shouldn’t get tired of them and saying they have to do this…”

The 71-year-old took great exception to Neville’s comments and was quick to remind the former Manchester United and England full-back of the quality his Spurs team had, containing the likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Ledley King.

Redknapp took the club from relegation trouble to finishing 8th in his first term with the club, before leading them to 4th, 5th and 4th-placed finishes in his full three seasons at White Hart Lane.

He has just one fewer top-four finish to his name than Pochettino and also guided them to the League Cup final, just as their current manager did back in 2014/15, both of which ended in defeat. Redknapp also has a Champions League quarter-final appearance on his resume – something the Argentine does not have.
