Adam Lallana EVENS to join Rangers this month

Rangers next transfer target could be Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, according to the bookmakers odds.

The England international has been struggling with injuries for the past season and a half which has seen him lose his place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting 11. And BetVictor are now offering odds of 1/1 for the 30-year-old to reunite with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard north of the boarder.

Lallana has made only three starts for the Reds in the last 18 months due to persistent injury woes, and there are rumours that he could leave Anfield this month in search of first team football. He and Gerrard of course played together at Liverpool in the 2014/15 season, ironically under current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, as well as in the England team.

The Gers have already brought in Jermain Defoe from AFC Bournemouth and Steven Davis from Southampton in this transfer window, and still wants to bolster the squad further as they bid for a first Scottish Premiership title since 2011.

However when asked about the rumours linking Lallana with Rangers, Gerrard appeared to rule it out. On top of that, the 30-year-old also made an appearance for the Reds yesterday and still looks to be part of Klopp’s plans as they fight on two fronts in the Premier League and Champions League.

If they did manage to pull it off however, Lallana would be an outstanding signing for the Glasgow club. He still has a few years left in him at just 30 if he can stay fit, and there is no doubting his quality on the ball.

Former Rangers legend Barry Ferguson agrees with that sentiment, saying: “I think he’s a top, top player. If Rangers get him, they’ve got an even better chance to snatch the title away from Celtic.

“He is a top, top player. If Rangers pull that off, I’ll need to give them a handshake.”

Ravel Morrison has also been linked with a move to Ibrox this month. The former Manchester United trainee has been plying his trade for Mexican club Atlas, on loan from Lazio, recently but the Italian’s are thought to be keen to offload the 25-year-old.
