Andrea Pirlo offers his seal of approval on Aaron Ramsey’s potential move to Juventus

Already mentioned on several occasions in our football transfer news section, a lot of football fans are avidly monitoring the situation of Aaron Ramey, who looks set to leave Arsenal next summer when his current contract comes to an end. He’s previously stated that the previous option of extending his contract at Arsenal is no longer on the table, but he’s prepared to pull out all the stops in his remaining months at the club, with Paris Saint Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich looking like his likely destination after he departs the Emirates.

The most appealing option appears to be Juventus, who are known to get the best out of midfielders – even in their later years – and the current project in Turin sees an even more appetising setup with Cristiano Ronaldo leading from the front. Aaron Ramsey odds set a price as high as 10/1 for the Arsenal midfielder to join Juventus next summer, and former player Andrea Pirlo has made himself known on the matter, hailing how worthwhile the deal would be if it were to come into fruition.

Rumours surrounding Aaron Ramsey’s potential move to Juventus have intensified over past days, with reports of a proposed €10 million annual salary being offered to the Welshman. Andrea Pirlo, who won four successive Serie A titles at Juventus, said that sealing a deal for Aaron Ramsey would be ‘excellent’ for the Bianconeri. He went on to say that ‘Ramsey would be a great buy’ before offering more insight into his thoughts on the matter. Pirlo said: “Juventus are preparing to pull off another excellent deal. He’s a good player and he could do very well”.

If Juventus are able to tempt Aaron Ramsey to Turin, he wouldn’t be the first high-profile footballer to sign for the club on a free transfer, with Fabio Cannavaro, Emre Can, Kingsley Coman, Paul Pogba, Dani Alves, Fernando Llorente, Sami Khedira – and of course, Andrea Pirlo – all being solid examples of players that were worth bringing in for free. The only issue that Aaron Ramsey could have would be whether he’d be bought in order to make profit in a future window, as they’ve been shown to do that in some cases, but with Claudio Marchisio leaving last summer and further depth being needed to cover Miralem Pjanic in midfield, Aaron Ramsey could be the perfect man to fill the gap, potentially extending the Welshman’s career in the same way that Andrea Pirlo hit his peak during his time in Turin.
