Tottenham’s injury crisis has left few believing they have a chance of winning the Premier League title now, while others have even questioned their top four hopes.

Despite missing Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura on Sunday afternoon, Spurs were still able to come away with three points at Craven Cottage, beating Fulham 2-1 after Harry Winks’ last-minute equaliser.

Fernando Llorente started up front on Sunday afternoon but failed to make an impact in attack and has rarely featured in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino. Carroll, meanwhile, could be available for just £2m come the end of the month, with his contract at the London Stadium set to expire at the end of the season.

Carroll has scored just three goals in 25 Premier League appearances since the start of last season, having continued to struggle with injury problems of his own, but still retains the lure of being a real handful on his day.

The 30-year-old started West Ham’s defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday and the deal could well come down to whether or not Marko Arnautovic moves to China this month.

The Austrian forward was the subject of a £35m offer from Chinese Super League side SIPG Shanghai, but the Hammers are keen to hold out to an offer closer to £45m.

With Kane out until March and Son away on international duty with South Korea, it is essential Spurs get bodies in this month ahead of fixtures against Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea and Arsenal between Kane’s return.

To make matters worse, Dele Alli also went off injured against Fulham on Sunday with an apparent hamstring problem, leaving them even shorter of options in attack ahead of Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
