Eddie Howe: No interest in Wilson

The Cherries front man is reportedly being tracked by a number of top flight clubs

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that there have been no bids received for striker Callum Wilson, amid rumours that the 26-year-old has attracted interest from a number of different clubs in the Premier League.

The in-form forward – who made his international debut for England against the USA in November – has scored nine goals for the Cherries this term, which has seen the likes of Chelsea, West Ham and Tottenham all sit up and take notice.

Despite the rumours though, Howe insists that no bids have been submitted for his star man.

“We’ve had no interest in any of our players,” said the Cherries boss.

“Everything has just been speculation, which you understand as this is the month for it.

“From my perspective and the team we have above me, we are always working together to try and find solutions to make the squad stronger and continue to move the team forward.

Despite plenty of rumours, Eddie Howe insists that Bournemouth have received no bids for Callum Wilson.

“They’re the main things. We’ll do that again, like we have done through the process that we’ve been together, for the benefit of Bournemouth.

“No interest or no actual enquiries? No, nothing.”

Bournemouth have reportedly valued Wilson at a staggering £75 million, but Howe refused to comment on how much the former Coventry man is worth, saying:

“I don’t want to place any more pressure on Callum or any of my players by talking about things that aren’t important.

“What’s important is Callum working hard for the team and producing his best performances on a consistent basis.

“For him to be thinking about transfer fees, values and other clubs, I would recommend he focuses on Bournemouth.”
