Odds on Norwich to win the Championship slashed from 50/1 to 4/1 after dream opening five months

The Canaries are currently second favourites to clinch the title in May

Daniel Farke’s Norwich City have been one of the Championship’s surprise packages this time out, and it’s being reflected in the bookies odds on them to win the whole division come the end of May. The East-Anglian outfit started the campaign as high as 50/1 to win the title, but have now moved to as short as 4/1 with some bookmakers due to their impressive performances this season.

Farke’s men have so far taken the division by storm, losing just five of their opening 26 matches since the start of August. They’re also the third highest scoring side in the second-tier, finding the net with ease, something they’ve lacked in recent seasons. The Canaries have been particularly strong on home soil this term, losing just four of their 13 league games at Carrow Road so far.

This weekend, Norwich face one of their toughest tasks yet, when they travel to the West Midlands to take on fourth place West Brom. The promotion-chasing Baggies potentially have the strongest squad in the division so will prove a real test, however should they come away from the Hawthorns with at least a point, it will really solidify their stance at the top of the Championship. A win could see Norwich leapfrog leaders Leeds United, should Marcelo Bielsa’s men slip up and lose to Derby County this evening.

Norwich are now priced at evens just to be promoted back to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation from the top flight three years ago – they started the season at 8/1. Leading goalscorer Teemu Pukki is largely to thank for the club’s success this term; the Finland international has bagged 15 league goals so far, just one shy of the divisions top scorer – Aston Villa’s Tammy Abraham. Pukki is priced at odds of 5/1 to win the golden boot at the end of the season with Bet365, who fancies him to do the business?
