Ousmane Dembele has reportedly begged his Barcelona teammates for their forgiveness, following the £90,000 fine he received for turning up late to training.

Dembele, 21, has been a repeat offender for poor timekeeping, with the French international believed to have been late due to oversleeping after a night of gaming.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT it is believed that the winger gathered his teammates together at the beginning of the week to apologise for his recent behaviour, before asking for them to give him a second chance. The act is said to have gone down well with the rest of his teammates.

Following the meeting, Dembele went on to score a superb goal during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, making it nine goals in just 14 starts this season in all competitions for the player.

Manager Ernesto Valverde has since warned the player about not repeating the offence, saying: “He has made a great goal, possible for players with his talent.

“We are happy with him and we said that throughout the season things happen that we try to solve internally.

“We hope that he and the rest will continue to give us much joys. I do not know [if the case is closed], tomorrow we have training.”
