Real Madrid lead the way for Paul Pogba’s signature

Real Madrid lead the way for Paul Pogba’s signature

We are almost halfway through the January window and as time goes on, we are hearing more and more rumours about the big names. As this is the modern era, Paul Pogba’s name is mentioned in almost every conversation about anything ever, all the time.

Now, the Manchester United star is once again thrown into the mix of a monumental signing to European heavyweight Real Madrid. This season, Pogba has been plagued with injuries, playing just eight times for United, which has once again brought up the conversation that he could well leave.

Pogba has been seen dancing at his brother Florentin’s wedding last month, before he managed a charity game in France two weeks later. This has made many believe that he is not dedicated to return and could well be heading for the exit. Now, with still some time before he plays again, Madrid once again lead the way for his signature.

Real Madrid the favourites

Pogba and Madrid is just one of those stories where the two match so perfectly to create something from nothing. You create a story with Pogba’s name alongside the Los Blancos and the two just seem to fit so well, just as Eden Hazard did with them whilst at Chelsea.

Now, however, the Spanish giants are once again the name at the top of the table at 5/2 with SkyBet. This comes after the Madrid president Florentino Perez joked that he had never heard of the Frenchman, when he was once again questioned about potentially signing him. After Zinedine Zidane’s men beat Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday, Perez smiled and replied: “I don’t know who Pogba is.”

It’s tough to know if this means anything these days, but his somewhat fake smile and sarcastic reply usually implies something is going on. Watch this space.

Juventus return next in line

Juventus is the place where Pogba became the sensational, highly marketable player he is today. The Frenchman, aged 19 at the time, left United for the Old Lady in 2012, much to the anger many United fans.

Those supporters who had payed attention to those in the youth ranks, knew they had some player on their hands in Pogba. And, as a result, it was not much of a surprise to see him blossom into an elite midfielder, soon after this transfer.

Now, should Pogba fancy rekindling with Juventus to rejuvenate that spectacular form, the possibility is 4/1, say SkyBet. After all, the 26-year-old won four consecutive Serie A titles in Turin.

PSG and Barcelona the outside prices

As is the case with such a high profile figure, many other heavyweights have been thrown into the mix, with Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona the outside prices.

PSG could be a temptation for Pogba, not just because of their star-studded squad, but as it would mean being closer to his hometown of Lagny-sur-Marne – a suburbs in east Paris. There is also the fact that the French giants are on course for a seventh Ligue 1 title in eight seasons.

If you believe the midfielder could be on his way back to France, you can whack this on at very appealing 14/1. Barcelona, on the hand, are at 25/1, which is understandable considering the interest from their Spanish rivals.

Also mentioned are United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City at 33/1 and 40/1, respectively.
