Tottenham Hotspur planning £12m bid for Jarrod Bowen

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a £12 million bid for Hull City’s star man Jarrod Bowen, that’s according to the Daily Mirror.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in need of a forward player after the news that Harry Kane will miss at least two months after picking up an ankle injury against Manchester United. Added to that Son Heung-min is now away at the Asian Cup, whilst Lucas Moura is also struggling for fitness which leaves Fernando Llorente as their only fit striker.

And reports are suggesting that Bowen is one of the players who would be of interest to them as they bid to bolster their forward line. Whilst Pochettino initially rubbished the link prior to Kane’s injury, reports are suggesting that he may have had a rethink considering his lack of options up front.

Spurs odds to sign Bowen have been cut down to 6/4 with Sky Bet, whilst BetVictor are offering a marginally larger price than that at 2/1.

Discussing a potential move away from the KCOM, Bowen was quick to play things down and said: “There is always going to be interest in every single player when you play well, but I’ve got agents that represent me and take care of that and they didn’t say anything to me.

“It is nice to see your name linked to some teams, but I am a Hull City player and as far as I’m aware it is just rumours.”

Harry Kane will be missing until March after picking up an ankle injury against Manchester United.

A whole host of other clubs in the Premier League are also thought to have shown an interest in the youngster. Indeed scouts from Burnley, Crystal Palace and Leicester City are all thought to have watched him play a starring role in Hull’s 3-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

Bowen has been in outstanding form for the Tigers this season. He has scored 13 times in 27 league outings as well as picking up three assists and has been a key figure in their recent winning streak which has seen them surge up the Championship table. He has been at the club since 2014 after joining from Hereford United which is where he initially came through the ranks.
