WATCH: Daley Blind scores hat-trick for Ajax from centre-back
On a miserable Sunday for Manchester United fans, it proved to be a memorable one for one of their former players with his new club.
Daley Blind spent four seasons at Old Trafford between 2014-2018, but was allowed to return to Ajax in the summer after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho during last season, making just 17 appearances in all competitions.
It’s a move which has proved to be a successful one so far, with Blind forming a solid partnership at centre-back alongside newly-crowned UEFA Golden Boy winner Matthijs De Ligt. Ajax enter today’s last 16 Champions League draw after progressing through the group stages with Bayern Munich.
On Sunday, things got even better for Blind, as the 28-year-old scored a hat-trick during Ajax’s 8-0 thrashing of De Graafschap in Amsterdam, including a 25-yard stunner as the team remained within two points of PSV in the table.
Watch below as Blind enjoyed a memorable day’s work, helping his team to yet another three points in the Eredivisie.
