Sir Alex Ferguson brands Paul Pogba’s agent a ‘sh*tbag’

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is a man of wisdom. The Scottish football legend will forever go down in history as one of, if not the greatest manager of all time after his hugely successful 27 years in charge at Old Trafford.

A no nonsense character who’s never afraid to say exactly what’s on his mind, everyone listens when Fergie speaks. His views are at times controversial, however with a wealth of experience within the footballing world, whatever the former Rangers striker says usually carries some clout.

A prime example of Fergie’s outspoken persona is a video of him branding United midfielder Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola a ‘shitbag’. Filmed at a press conference last year, Sir Alex was asked about why nobody realised the fact Pogba would “turn out to be a £100million player” throughout his first spell at the club back in 2011-12. Fergie’s reply was simple – “He had a bad agent [Raiola], shitbag.”

The controversy surrounding Pogba and his agent comes after Paul Scholes made a comment about the 25-year-old’s performance in United’s 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Sunday. Former United midfielder Scholes said that Pogba had a “poor game” and that he “lacked leadership”.

Scholes added:  “As a midfield player for Manchester United, your job is to get the ball to your best players who can hurt the opposition.

“There’s a lack of leaders in the team. That’s why we thought Paul Pogba might be the ideal candidate to be that leader but he wasn’t there tonight.”

This led to Raiola hitting back in defence of his superstar client, saying “Paul Scholes wouldn’t recognize a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill.”

He then added: “Paul Scholes should become sports director and advise Woodward to sell Pogba. Would be sleepless nights to find Pogba a new club.”

Spot on once again, Fergie.
