Newly-crowned king of the jungle Harry Redknapp has returned to more familiar surroundings within football since coming back from Australia.

This morning, Redknapp appeared on Jim White’s show on talkSPORT and, unsurprisingly, the main talking point was still Manchester United and the decision to sack Jose Mourinho.

It has since been revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take caretaker charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season and will be assisted by first team coach Mike Phelan, who worked closely with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The appointment seems to have gone down fairly well with most United fans – but Redknapp has questioned the decision to hand the reins to the Norwegian. The former Tottenham boss was of the opinion that it should’ve gone to Steve Bruce on a temporary basis, who also played for the club during the 1990s.

He also had his doubts over the success they will enjoy over the remainder of the season, saying he wouldn’t put his money on United even finishing in the top six of the Premier League following the appointment.

Watch below as Redknapp has his say on the situation and doesn’t at all appear impressed by the appointment United have gone with.
