WATCH: Leroy Sane scores first international goal for Germany

Given the way his club career has gone to date, many would’ve expected Leroy Sane to be a regular in the Germany set up, having flourished under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

However, it seems Joachim Low hasn’t been as big of a fan in recent times, having infamously left the 22-year-old out of his 23-man squad for the World Cup in Russia, during which his team were eliminated in the group stages.

Since then, Sane has quickly been brought back into the fold and was given his chance to start on Thursday night during their friendly against Russia and he certainly took it with both hands.

It took just seven minutes for the reigning PFA Young Player of the Year to score his first goal for his country against the recent World Cup hosts, doing so in simple fashion as they went on to comfortably win 3-0.

Shockingly, it took him 16 caps to open his account for his country, but Sane will hope this is the first of many. Watch below as Sane brought his goal drought for Germany to an end early on against Russia.
