WATCH: Santi Cazorla takes the p*ss out of Real Madrid with two beautiful finishes

The miniature Spaniard somehow managed to nutmeg Thibaut Courtois with a header

After a two year spell on the sidelines, which included 11 gruelling operations and specialists saying he may never walk again – let alone play again – former Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla is defying the odds by tearing it up once more, this time in La Liga.

The 34-year-old midfielder has now returned to his homeland of Spain, turning out for the club where it all began for him 18 years ago – Villarreal. Last night, he stole all the headlines by scoring both goals in his sides 2-2 draw with title chasers Real Madrid, to prevent Los Blancos from moving to within touching distance of league leaders Barcelona.

Villarreal are currently struggling near the foot of the Spanish top flight, and could quite easily be dragged into a relegation scrap come the end of the season should they continue with their recent poor form, however with performances like this from the man who’s career was all but over just six months ago, they should be just fine.

Cazorla’s first was a textbook finessed finish, placed first time beautifully into the bottom corner as the game was just four minutes old. His second was just outrageously cheeky. As one of, if not the smallest player on the pitch, he somehow managed to nutmeg Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois.. with a header at the back post.

Take a look at both of Cazorla’s goals below:
