Through impressive displays in the Champions League, several Ajax players have been linked with moves away, reported interest in Nicolas Tagliafico from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, and rising star Frenkie de Jong already set to join Barcelona in the summer.
Another primary figure at Ajax that Europe's elite are now interested in is Morocco midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who's been closely linked to Bayern Munich as they look to revamp their ageing squad this summer.
It's assumed that how Hakim Ziyech performed on the world stage set his value higher, catching the attention of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the process. He's had a sensational season all-round, contributing fourteen goals and ten assists in the Eredivisie, as well as scoring two and assisting one in Ajax's Champions League campaign, where they're now into the quarter-finals of the competition.
Bayern Munich priced at 7/4 to sign Hakim Ziyech this summer
Due to Paddy Power pricing up Hakim Ziyech transfer odds, a few options are available, including most of the biggest clubs across Europe. Almost every team is handed a price at 10/1 or above, apart from Bayern Munich, who are given odds of 7/4 to sign the Moroccan.
We've not seen anywhere near the standard expected of Bayern Munich this season, as Niko Kovac had a rocky start to life at the club. The squad is mostly ageing, leaving a lot of incoming players with a lot of pressure on their shoulders, as they're mostly only youngsters themselves; twenty-six-year-old Hakim Ziyech would be at the perfect stage in his career for a new Bayern Munich player, as he's the right sort of age they'd be looking for.
The poor start to life at Bayern Munich isn't likely to see the end of Niko Kovac as manager, especially after they looked more capable in attempting to regain their place at the top of the Bundesliga. They're now two points behind Borussia Dortmund but, regardless of whether or not they win the league, a big summer transfer window is on the cards.
It's admittedly difficult to judge the quality of a top player in the Netherlands when envisaging a future in a league as competitive as the Bundesliga.
Morocco is an especially troublesome country in terms of footballing exports, with Nordin Amrabat, Adel Taarabt, Karim El Ahmadi, Sofiane Boufal and Oussama Assaidi being just a handful of infamous Moroccans who flopped in the Premier League alone, but each player must be judged on his own merits, and Hakim Ziyech looks excellent on the ball and technically gifted, so he could be worth the gamble for The Bavarians.
Elsewhere, Paddy Power offer 10/1 odds for Ziyech to join Paris Saint Germain or Real Madrid, 12/1 odds for him to sign for Liverpool, and a 16/1 price has been handed to all of Tottenham Hotspur, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester City.
Any prospect of signing for Manchester United is set at 20/1, and Chelsea's proposed transfer ban appears to have had a negative effect, putting them down at 50/1 to see them with the largest price.
Ajax were faultless against Real Madrid, with former Southampton winger Dusan Tadic playing a key role:
3/3/18: Southampton 0-0 Stoke
5/3/19: Real Madrid 0-2 Ajax
From battling relegation to tearing apart the Bernabeu.
