Antony Transfer News & Odds

Brazilian winger Antony looks as though he could be on his way out of Ajax following an impressive 2021/22 campaign for the 22-year-old winger, having scored 12 goals and created 10 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

According to Dutch news outlets such as De Telegraaf, the Brazilian could be available for around £51m.

Since joining the Johan Cruijff Arena club from Sao Paulo for £13m that could rise to £18.2m, Antony has scored 22 and created 20 assists in 78 matches, winning trophies such as Dutch Eredivisie twice, on top of a KNVB Cup in 2020/21.

Manchester United Odds: 1/8

Manchester United are the firm favourites to sign Antony from Ajax according to the bookmakers.

With Erik ten Hag moving to Old Trafford, on top of their need to increase their attacking options following the releases of Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard upon their contracts expiring, whilst reports suggest that Anthony Martial wants to leave the club, a move for Antony makes plenty of sense.

United are in need of a squad rebuild and arguably need players that are ready to take the next step in their careers on the way to being world-class rather than signing already proven players on astronomical wages, something which they were frequently guilty of doing throughout the Ed Woodward era.

AC Milan Odds: 16/1

Serie A champions AC Milan are also reportedly looking at trying to sign the Brazilian winger from Ajax.

The Rossoneri could arguably do with signing another right-winger, as they look to further upgrade their squad in an attempt to assert dominance in Serie A following their first title win since the 2010/11 season.

Former Villarreal winger Samu Castillejo barely featured last season and could be on his way out of the San Siro, therefore, paving the way for another attacking signing. The 27-year-old played just 122 minutes worth of Serie A football last campaign and has just one year left on his contract at the San Siro.

AC Milan are priced at 16/1 to sign Antony from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

Arsenal Odds: 18/1

There is no secret that Arsenal are looking to upgrade on their attacking options ahead of the new season, with Mikel Arteta’s side coming incredibly close to earning Champions League football for the 2022/23 season.

Despite finishing in fifth place, the Gunners only scored 61 goals, a mere 38 fewer than eventual champions Manchester City, showing that there is still some way to go if they are to further close the gap on those at the top of the table.

With plenty of clubs in for one of Arsenal’s other targets in the shape of Raphinha of Leeds United, Antony could perhaps provide a superb alternative.

Arsenal are priced at 18/1 to acquire Antony.

Barcelona Odds: 25/1

Barcelona are also in the mix for the Brazilian, with Raphinha also reportedly being Xavi’s other target for a new right-winger after not triggering Adama Traore’s option to buy following an uninspiring spell from the Spaniard at the Nou Camp whilst on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With Ferran Torres also showing inconsistencies in his performances since leaving Manchester City for Barcelona, perhaps the addition of someone like Antony could be key, as he would give them another quality option, whilst offering stern competition to those who are already at the club.

Antony is priced at 25/1 to make the switch from the Johan Cruijff Arena to the Nou Camp.

Leeds United Odds: 33/1

The final club on this list is Leeds United who will be desperate to add to their squad following their near-miss from being relegated back to the Championship last season.

Jesse Marsch’s men survived on the final day of the season thanks to a 2-1 victory over Brentford, having initially struggled through large parts of the campaign under Marcelo Bielsa.

With reports linking Brazilian winger Raphinha away to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Barcelona, there is the potential that Leeds could use any money raised from the sale of the Brazilian towards Antony who also plays on the right-wing.

Leeds are priced at 33/1 to sign Antony.
