Conor Coady Summer Transfer Odds

Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Conor Coady could leave Molineux this summer following change at the Midlands club which has seen the likes of Nuno Espirito Santo and Rui Patricio depart, whilst Ruben Neves’ future also looks uncertain following links to Arsenal.

Last season, Coady played 37 times in the Premier League, averaging 0.9 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 3.5 clearances and 0.9 blocks per game having predominantly played in the middle of Wolves’ back five due to his excellent range of passing, averaging 50.2 passes per game, with 6.7 of these being long balls with an accuracy of 88%.

Tottenham Hotspur Odds: 9/4

Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to sign Coady, which would actually see the 28-year-old link up with former manager Santo at the Lilywhites.

The signature of Coady would allow Tottenham to adapt to a five at the back formation which served Santo so well at Molineux, as he managed a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League with Wolves at the first time of asking, conceding 46 times, which was the fifth-best defence in the division.

The 28-year-old England international is a leader and a good areal presence, as well as having good ball-playing capabilities, which is something that Spurs lack at the heart of their defence with the exception of Toby Alderweireld, following the departure of Jan Vertonghen to Benfica last summer.

Coady could revolutionize Spurs’ current system and is priced at 9/4 to join from Wolves this summer – click on the link to claim this bet in your bet slip!

Everton Odds: 11/4

Everton are the next club on this list of those to be interested in Coady, as manager Rafael Benitez is rumoured to be a big fan of the former Liverpool academy product who was upcoming through the ranks at Anfield when the Spaniard was manager of the Reds.

The Toffees have occasionally in the past reverted to a five at the back formation under Carlo Ancelotti as well as the likes of Ronald Koeman in the past, meaning that if they were to try this then Coady would be the centrepiece of this plan. At present, Everton have often been weak in the centre-back position, conceding man soft goals which was perhaps best demonstrated in their 2-2 draw with Tottenham last April, where Spurs scored two goals from three shots on target at Goodison Park.

Coady is priced at 11/4 to return to Merseyside, but this time in the colours of Everton.

Liverpool Odds: 20/1

The final team on this list of those that have been linked with a move for Coady is Liverpool.

As mentioned above, Coady came through the ranks at the Anfield club between 2005 and 2011, but, made just one Premier League appearance which came in the 2012/13 season under Brendan Rodgers before he was loaned out to Sheffield United for the 2013/14 campaign and eventually sold to Huddersfield Town in 2014/15 where he would spend just one year before making the switch to Molineux.

Coady has a sensational fitness record, as since joining Wolves in the summer of 2015, he had made 235 league appearances, missing just eight league games since his debut season at the Midlands club, something which Liverpool could perhaps do with, as Joel Matip and new signing Ibrahima Konate have missed a total of 65 and 45 matches due to injury since the start of the 2019/20 season, and following last season where Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez were both ruled out for lengthy spells, the Anfield club may throw caution to the wind by signing another centre-back.

Coady is priced at 20/1 to re-sign for Liverpool in the current transfer window.
