Danny Rose Next Club Odds

Danny Rose

Danny Rose Pushing for he exit door

Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose is currently searching for a new club, having not been given a squad number or being registered in either of Spurs’ Premier League or Europa League squads.

This comes after the England international criticised his current manager Jose Mourinho for not playing him following his departure to Newcastle United on loan in January last season, as he felt the former Chelsea manager was trying to force him out of the club, which the 30-year-old joined in 2007 from Leeds United.

West Brom Odds

Sam Allardyce’s West Brom are currently the favourites to sign Rose, with the Baggies desperately searching for defensive recruitments, as they lie six points adrift of 17th placed Brighton & Hove Albion. The Midlands-based side have conceded the most goals in the Premier League, having leaked 39 in just 17 games which will have to be improved upon if they are to avoid the drop.

Rose’s Spurs contract finishes at the end of this season, meaning that he would leave the club for a cut-price fee which would put the left-back in the right price range for the Baggies. The former England international has never played under Allardyce and last represented Newcastle United on loan in 2020, where he made just 11 league appearances.

No doubt West Brom could do with the reinforcements, whilst it might be the best place for Rose to go to find his feet once more.

Leeds United Odds

Leeds United are second on the list at 6/1. This move wouldn’t surprise, as Rose used to play for the Yorkshire side until Tottenham signed him for £1m at the age of 17 in 2007. The Doncaster-born full-back has expressed his desire to return back to the North of England, looking to end a 13 and a half years stay at Tottenham.

The Whites currently have the second-worst defence in the division, conceding 33 goals in 17 matches and there is plenty of unlocked potential at Elland Road, as with a tighter defence they could potentially look to push up the table for European football as they play an exciting attacking style under Marcelo Bielsa.

It seems like it would be the perfect fit for both Rose and the club, but Bielsa's trust in Ezgjan Alioski might force this move away.

Rose to return to Leeds has a good chance of coming in at 6/1.

Sheffield United Odds

Sheffield United are another Yorkshire club in the running to sign the 30-year-old left-back, with the Blades facing the impossible in the Premier League, having picked up just two points from 17 matches, the worst start to a season in Premier League history.

It is unlikely that Rose will want to move to Sheffield United on a long-term deal if he opts to move back up North to Bramall Lane, as it is doubtful that he will want to play in the Championship next season if the seemingly inevitable relegation happens.

However, a deal until the end of the season would be of use, as it would effectively see out the remaining sixth months of the 30-year-old's Tottenham contract, meaning that he could reassess his options in the summer. Either way, it doesn't seem anybody will want to make the drop down to join the Blades right now.

Crystal Palace Odds

Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace are the next club in the frame to sign Rose, as it was the former England manager who gave the Tottenham man his England debut in a friendly win against Germany in March 2016.

However, with Patrick van Aanholt and Tyrick Mitchell both on Palace’s books, it is unlikely that they will look to sign a third left-back, as logically, it wouldn’t make sense to do so, especially considering the fact that Mitchell has performed extremely well in what is his first full season of Premier League football, and the Eagles will not want to stunt the 21-year-olds development.

However, will Wilfred Zaha back to his very best, reinforcements down that left channel would go a long way and considering Rose is likely to be very cheap, it would be an astute signing for Hodgdon's side.

Palace have the odds of 12/1 to take Rose to Selhurst Park.

Burnley Odds

Burnley have recently been taken over by American company ALK and are expected to be active in the January transfer window, having only spent £1m in the summer transfer window on Brighton’s Dale Stephens.

Alike Palace, Burnley already have two left-backs on their books in Charlie Taylor and Erik Pieters, and with the Clarets lacking numbers in the centre of their defence, and rumoured to be looking at right-backs and right midfielders, it is unlikely that Rose will join the Turf Moor side alike former teammates Aaron Lennon and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou

Rose is now priced at 16/1 to move to Sean Dyche’s side and similarly to reasons why he may not joining Sheffield United, it just seems the glove doesn't fit on this one for club and player.

West Ham United Odds

The last team on this list of interested clubs are West Ham United, who are doing well this season under the management of David Moyes. This would mean Rose joins one of Spurs' biggest rivals having played for the club for over a decade, but, logistically if he was offered the chance to play for the Hammers, he may not have to move location.

But, West Ham do already have two left-backs on their books in Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Creswell, however, the latter does usually play as a left centre back in their 5-4-1 formation, meaning that there would be room for Rose to play a role in his natural position.

The Hammers do often sign experienced players who have been at the stereotypical 'Big Six', as shown when they took the likes of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Patrice Evra and Jack Wilshere to the London Stadium.

At 16/1, it's fair to say this one might not materialise with Rose's desire to move back up North, West Ham's left-backs are already doing a decent job under Moyes in 2020/21.
