Chelsea are the first English team to feature on this list of clubs linked to the signature of Donnarumma.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are looking to improve the quality across their squad, as they look set to finish in the Champions League qualification places in the Premier League this campaign, and by many, the goalkeeping situation at Stamford Bridge is regarded as one of Chelsea’s weakest positions.
Chelsea have not had an assured starting goalkeeper since 2018 when they allowed Thibaut Courtois to leave the club for £35m to Real Madrid, which then prompted the London club to pay a world-record fee of £71.6m for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been a major disappointment since leaving Athletic Bilbao for Stamford Bridge.
In the midst of Chelsea’s summer spending last year, Edouard Mendy was signed for a relatively cheap price of £22m on a five-year contract from Rennes which has significantly improved Chelsea’s defensive statistics, but instances this season have shown that he isn’t the required standard of goalkeeper that Chelsea will need if they are to challenge for trophies such as the Premier League or Champions League on a regular basis.
Donnarumma is priced at 10/1 to move to Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at Milan this summer.
