Colombian player James Rodriguez has been said to be out of favour at his club Real Madrid for a little while now, reportedly having lost manager Zinedine Zidane’s trust and is looking to make a shift towards Atletico Madrid this summer.
Atletico has already explored signing the Colombian last summer, leaving them now being Rodriguez’ first choice. The deal not being able to go through as the biggest struggling block being the player’s reported wage packet of €8.5m per year, which Atletico may not be able to match. Which apparently was a big regret for Rodriguez having missed that chance and is looking to join Atletico again at the end of the season. Their odds being 5/6.
Rumour has it now that the Colombian star is in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid over a £35 million summer transfer. Putting Atletico in the lead of landing the 28-year-old as there are several clubs out there trying to get their hands on Rodriguez, many of them in the Premier League.
According to sources, the player is happy this move could be happening both from a sporting and personal point of view, but he remains open to options from the Premier League.
