Kai Havertz Next Club Odds - 09/06/20

Kai Havertz Transfer Odds

Kai Havertz has become one of the brightest young talents in football this season and the 20-year-old looks set to leave Bayer Leverkusen after an electric start to his career.

Truly bursting on to the scene in the 2018/19 season, his 17 goals from midfield clinched a top-four finish for Leverkusen, whilst he became the first teenager to score 17 from this position in a single Bundesliga season.

Turning 20 in June 2019, Havertz picked up where he left off at the start of the 2019/20 season, becoming the second-youngest player to score 25 Bundesliga goals and then the youngest to hit 30. Before the season came to a halt, Havertz had 11 goal contributions in 22 Bundesliga games, as well as three goals in three Europa League games.

It will reportedly take upwards of £90 million to pry Havertz away from Leverkusen, but this will be a small price to pay for whoever snaps him up. Still a few months away from his 21st birthday, the talent that Havertz possesses is clear and any club with him in the lineup will own one of Europe’s most lethal weapons.

Here, we look at the odds from Paddy Power, to see which European giants are in pole position to land the German starlet. As things stand, it looks to be a toss-up between continued Bundesliga domination and a fresh start in England for the youngster.

Kai Havertz Bayern Munich Odds

With odds of 6/4, German giants Bayern Munich are the big favourites to seal Havertz’s signature. Bayern have a habit of snapping up the Bundesliga’s top talent, having already taken a plethora of talent from around the country over recent years. Now, it seems Havertz is next on this list.

It’s transfers as such which have led to Bayern's total domination of German football, winning eight of the previous ten seasons. Havertz will be another positive addition to helping continue this and moving the club closer to winning the Champions League once more, something they have done just twice in the 21st century.

Havertz would certainly fit into the side as well, with Phillippe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic set to return to their parent clubs, meaning the Bavarians will be short on creativity in the attacking midfield area. The German could be the man to rectify this and with Thomas Muller turning 31 in the new season, he could be the one to take the place of the fan favourite on a long term basis.

Could Kai Havertz be the spark which ignites a new era for this Bayern side? He has been backed in from 4/1 from just last April, suggesting many believe this transfer will materialise.

Kai Havertz Liverpool Odds

Having initially opened up with odds of 5/1, Liverpool looked to be the only side competing with Bayern for Havertz’s signature. Their player pull has certainly improved in recent times - two consecutive Champions League finals, a 97-point season last campaign and a 25-point lead at the top right now, is enough of a selling point for any figure to join.

Plus, manager Jurgen Klopp also has a fantastic record of working with some of Germany's best youngsters at Borussia Dortmund, such as Marco Reus and Mario Gotze.

Whilst Havertz was scoring 17 league goals as a teenager in midfield, Firmino finished the 18/19 league season with just 12 as a striker. Granted, Jurgen Klopp’s intense “gegenpressing” system doesn’t necessarily require a traditional goalscorer up top, so it can be argued that Havertz can step into this system.

There are cases to be made for Havertz in a host of positions in the Liverpool side, and he could be just the man needed for Klopp to continue his domination and cement his legacy as Liverpool boss. Plus, the manager's work with German youngsters of the past is perhaps enough for Havertz to join from his own personal growth.

Despite these factors though, the Reds' odd has been on the drift, now standing at an underdog price of 12/1. They have moved down the pecking order, with serious doubts recently being placed on their capability to spend this summer.

Kai Havertz Chelsea Odds

Making up for lost time last year, Chelsea have suddenly become one of the most active clubs in this summer's transfer window.

Hakim Ziyech is signed and sealed, Timo Werner looks all but wrapped up, and Ben Chilwell is on their shortlist too. Does this make a move for Havertz unrealistic though?

As per the Daily Mail, Frank Lampard is a fan, and they are willing to pursue a deal for the midfielder. Paddy Power currently have Havertz at 10/3 to join Chelsea, making them the official second favourites behind Bayern.

It certainly would be a deal that makes sense, with both Willian and Pedro looking destined to leave on a free. Alongside Ziyech, could it be two in and two out down the flanks? Chelsea fans would no doubt welcome such an upgrade in options.

Kai Havertz Manchester United Odds

It's certainly no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is after a new midfielder this summer.

The Red Devils have extensively been linked with a move for James Maddison and Jack Grealish, with Havertz now being identified as a legitimate target. German publication, Bild, confirmed the club's interest, and they are an outlet that usually get their Bundesliga news bang on.

At 10/1 though, Manchester United have been granted an outside chance in landing the talented midfielder. This presumably stems from their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, who will likely cost upwards of £70m.

Can they really secure two of the Bundesliga's most prised assets in one window? Their underdog status is perhaps justified.

Kai Havertz Manchester City Odds

Manchester City may well be in the market for an attacking midfielder, considering David Silva announced a while back that this is set to be his final year at the club. Of course, it will take an almighty signing to step into his shoes, but if there is anybody out there who can give it a go, it's Havertz.

However, with Champions League football not an option for City, as well as seemingly losing their Premier League crown to Liverpool, the club have lost many selling points very quickly. Plus, there will be a desire for Pep Guardiola to bleed in youngster Phil Foden as Silva's replacement for the future, with the Spaniard constantly stating how he is one of the best youngsters around.

On the other hand, this is City, and despite Financial Fair Play already capping them, the club will still spend, as it's just what they do. Plus with Liverpool's recent rise to the top, the Etihad side all of sudden have some serious catching up to do.

Odds are priced at 20/1 for this one to go through.

Kai Havertz Outside Odds

Paris Saint-Germain will always be linked with the star names, regardless of age or the club's squad depth. PSG's incredible wealth and the signings of players such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in recent years have shown they will stop at nothing to get who they want - they are 25/1 to sign Havertz.

Juventus, on the other hand, are not big spenders, and it was uncharacteristic of them to spend just short of £100m on Cristiano Ronaldo. Plus, with Paulo Dybala already in the attacking midfield position, it's tough to see Juventus splashing the cash again - the Old Lady are also 25/1 to acquire the German.

Similar to the Italian giants, Real Madrid are not exactly in desperate need of a man in Havertz's position. With Isco and James Rodriguez as their attacking midfield options, whilst Asensio can also drop into this role, Zinedine Zidane may look elsewhere. Despite this, they have quite surprisingly short odds of 12/1.
