Aston Villa are reportedly set to make a move on Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier, having monitored the right-back's situation for some time. Villa boss Dean Smith has made it his priority to sign a new right-back this summer and Trippier could be just the one person to be up for that task.
The England man only joined Atletico a year ago and still has two years left on his contract there. However, the Spanish side would be willing to sell if Villa were to pay the £20m they paid to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
The potential move would benefit Villa, who have been dealing with a leaky defence for a little while now, having only just stayed in the Premier League on the final day of the season. Frederic Guilbert, Ezri Konsa and Ahmed Elmohamady all played at right-back last season, but Smith is on the lookout for a more experienced man in this field to solidify the position.
A move back to the Premier League would also be good for Trippier in terms of his chances on the England national team, as he battles with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kyle Walker to name a few.
Villa's odds to sign Trippier are now priced at EVENS with Paddy Power.
