Luis Suarez Transfer News & Odds

Luis Suarez looks set to leave Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window upon the expiry of his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, with a whole host of teams looking to sign the 35-year-old.

The former Ajax and Liverpool striker has scored a total of 34 goals and six assists in 82 games, helping Diego Simeone’s men to a La Liga title win in the 2020/21 season ahead of city rivals Real Madrid, following a fairly unamicable exit from Barcelona in the summer of 2020.

Team Latest Odds
Inter Milan 5/2
Aston Villa 3/1
Sevilla 3/1
AC Milan 7/1

Inter Milan Odds: 5/2

Inter Milan are set to battle it out for Suarez’s signature as they are looking to strengthen their forward line, as they currently trail AC Milan in the Serie A title race.

Away from the likes of Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez who have 38 goals between them, Alexis Sanchez and Joaquin Correa have poor tallies, accumulating 10 between them, offering very little in terms of a challenge to their counterparts for a place in Inter’s starting line-up.

With Suarez being a free transfer, this will be a significantly easier deal for Inter who were cash strapped last summer, hence why they sold the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku.

Aston Villa Odds: 3/1

Aston Villa are also on this list of clubs that are interested, particularly due to the Uruguayan’s relationship with former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard.

The Villains were linked with the 35-year-old in the January transfer window having signed another one of Suarez’s ex-Liverpool teammates in Philippe Coutinho, who has since joined the Villa Park club on a permanent basis.

With the likes of Danny Ings struggling since his summer move from Southampton with just seven goals to his name, there is the potential that Suarez could replace Ings or offer competition to him if Villa decides to play two strikers up-front.

Suarez is priced at 3/1 to be reunited with Gerrard and Coutinho at Villa.

Sevilla Odds: 3/1

Fellow Spanish La Liga side Sevilla have also registered interest in Suarez due to the shortcomings of their strikers this campaign.

Julen Lopetegui’s men were firmly in the La Liga title race at the start of the new year, however, a lack of goals has hindered them, having with Rafa Mir being their top scorer with just 10 goals to his name.

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial has flopped in Seville, scoring just one goal since his loan move from Manchester United, which has culminated in the Spanish club not wanting him, as well as being transfer listed by his parent club.

Sevilla are priced at 3/1 to acquire Suarez in the summer.

AC Milan Odds: 7/1

The final team to feature on this list is AC Milan, who could find themselves as Serie A champions after the upcoming weekend.

The Rossoneri are well known for signing ageing strikers, such as Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however, with these two players scoring 17 goals between them, there could be an opportunity to replace one of the former mentioned players with the Uruguayan.

Suarez has managed to fire in 11 goals in 1,830 La Liga minutes, averaging a goal every 166 minutes, meaning that he could potentially offer AC another good option up-front.

Suarez is priced at 7/1 to move to AC in the upcoming transfer window.
