Mesut Ozil Next Club Odds

It's been a rocky two years for Mesut Ozil.

The Arsenal midfielder's career has seriously deteriorated, to the point where his own club have now excluded him from their official Premier League squad.

Ozil first fell out of favour under Unai Emery, featuring inconsistently. Under Mikel Arteta, he has become non-existent.

Given the latest news of his squad omission, we've looked into the 32-year-old's next club odds.

Please note, these prices relate to the midfielder joining a club before February 2nd 2021.

Any MLS Club

Heading to the States has been a popular pathway for those edging near retirement. The game is much slower in the MLS, accommodating for those ageing figures that are not ready to hang up their boots just yet.

At 3/1, SkyBet have made America Ozil's most likely destination. This price will be settled as a winner, should the midfielder join any MLS club.

The most obvious candidate would be David Beckham's Inter Miami, with the franchise looking for such star names to broaden their brand awareness. They have already acquired Gonzalo Higuain, meaning paying the big wages shouldn't be an issue.

This is, of course, a stumbling block for any club looking to sign Ozil, who reportedly earns £350,000 a week. Arsenal will likely need to compromise somewhere though to offload the German, and Inter Miami could be best placed to capitalise.

Fenerbahce and Galatasaray Odds

Ozil to Fenerbache? Wondering if that rings a bell?

Well, the Turkish club officially denied claims that they were pursuing a move for the midfielder in the summer of 2019, as the transfer was deemed too expensive. They were complimentary towards the player, but it was simply not feasible to conclude business.

With Arsenal now willing to sell however, as mentioned, compromises could be made. Due to their brief history, Fenerbahce have been made the second betting favourites for his signature at 6/1.

Another Turkish club who could be monitoring the situation is Galatasaray. Fotospor reported in the summer that Arsenal actually reached out to the club to see whether they would be interested in the playmaker, but nothing materialised.

Like Fenerbahce though, such links have seemingly influenced the betting odds. Galatasaray are 7/1 to sign Ozil.

West Ham Odds to sign Ozil

There is always the potential for Ozil to leave on loan, and should he want to stay in London, a move to West Ham makes sense on paper.

The Hammers are certainly no strangers to taking players off Arsenal's hands - Lucas Perez, Jack Wilshire and Carl Jenkinson to name a few. With no disrespect to West Ham either, such players can be identified as 'deadwood' from the Gunners' point of view, with a move to East London being a step down, but by no means a drastic move for each player's career.

For playing time, Ozil could be open to the move, and David Moyes' side have been given odds of 7/1 to sign him in January - the same as Galatasaray.

AC Milan Odds to sign Ozil

Next in line after West Ham are AC Milan at 8/1.

Stefano Pioli has worked wonders since taking charge of the Italians and at the time of writing, his side are unbeaten in 22 games, sitting on top of Serie A.

They spent big in the summer of 2019, but not 2020, meaning there could be room to invest this January. Squad depth will be needed, particularly as Europa League success looks to be on the cards this season.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu is the starting figure in the attacking midfield role, but Ozil would provide some healthy competition, or at least, offer his services on a squad rotational role.

Outside odds to sign Ozil

SkyBet also have some other odds on their list.

Besiktas are one of four Turkish clubs to appear in the market, but they have a larger price of 9/1 to capture his signature, in comparison to Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Istanbul Basaksehir are also included, but with odds of 12/1.

The latter are in the Champions League, arguably making them the more appealing destination. Whether they qualify from their tough group though, remains to be seen.

Manchester United were one of the teams drawn alongside Basaksehir, and they too make SkyBet's list. Their odds of 16/1 however, symbolise the faint chances of this deal. The Red Devils have just offloaded Alexis Sanchez from their books, and appear keen to stay clear of those figures with lucrative wage packets.
