Moise Kean is gaining a reputation for being one of the most promising footballers playing in Europe at the moment, but he is being linked with a surprise summer transfer.
The Juventus striker made his breakthrough in Turin last season, netting six goals in 13 appearances for the 'Old Lady'. It seemed as though the 19-year-old was destined for big things with the club, but a recent disciplinary issue with the Italy's under-21 side combined with the fact he doesn't seem to want to sign a new contract could see him leave the Allianz Stadium.
According to reports, Everton are keen on signing the youngster as they look to find a prolific forward this summer. The Toffees have never really replaced Romelu Lukaku who left in 2017 to join Manchester United, Cenk Tosun was brought in but failed to fire whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin has done fine filling in but hasn't weighed in with enough goals.
So a priority for Marco Silva this summer is to bring in a new striker. Danny Welbeck had initially been linked with a move to Merseyside, but it could be that Kean is the clubs first choice. Italian outlet Tuttosport are saying that Everton are leading the chase for the player, whilst Sky Bet are offering odds of 9/4 for him to go to Goodison Park which makes them favourites.
It is thought that they have already seen a £26 million bid for the Italian turned down, but with Juve now possibly considering selling him a new bid may be in the offing. However, if the Serie A champions do choose to sell they are likely to ask for a buy-back option to be included in the deal to cover themselves.
His wage demands would be roughly around £35,000-per-week which is within Everton's budget and his arrival would match up with their ambitions of challenging the so-called 'big six' in the Premier League.
Whether the player would welcome a move to the Toffees is unknown at this point. Whilst he would be almost guaranteed a regular starting place, something which isn't on offer at Juventus, it would mean sacrificing playing in the Champions League.
Ajax also interested in Moise Kean transfer
Everton could face competition for the signature of Kean from Dutch champions Ajax, who have reportedly been tracking the 19-year-old since January.
The Amsterdam based club have a reputation for getting the best out of young players, with Frenkie De Jong being the latest in a long line of quality players who they have developed before selling on to Barcelona. That along with the fact that they were so impressive in last seasons Champions League could tempt the young centre forward to go and play for the Eredivisie where he will get the game time and quality coaching to improve his game.
Added to that, Kean could also be used as part of a potential deal with Matthijs de Ligt going the other way. The centre-back looks set to join Juventus this summer, but the deal is yet to be fully concluded.
The Italian club may consider including the young striker as part of the deal which would reduce the overall cost of the transfer for the Ajax skipper, and would also possibly make the deal more attractive to the Dutch outfit.
Sky Bet currently have Ajax as second favourites to sign Kean this summer, offering odds of 5/1 for him to move to the Johann Cruyff Arena.
