Neymar Transfer News & Odds

Neymar looks like he could be on his way out from PSG this summer following reports emerging that the 30-year-old is looking to leave the club following a turbulent season between the Parc des Princes club and fans, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s side winning the Ligue 1 title.

The Brazilian winger still remains as the world record transfer fee ever to be paid when he left Barcelona for Paris in a staggering deal amounting to €222 million back in 2018 - a highly controversial move at the time.

At present, Neymar has a contract at PSG until June 2025 and in his spell with the Parisians, the former Santos man has won the Ligue 1 title four times, the Coupe de France on three occasions, as well as the Coupe de League twice, on top of two Trophee des Champions titles.

Neymar has scored a total of 100 goals and created 60 assists in 144 matches, but, staggeringly, this season has seen him make his most league appearances for the club since his arrival, playing 22 times.

Chelsea Odds: 7/1

Chelsea are currently the favourites to sign Neymar at 7/1 having been linked with him for years.

Thomas Tuchel has previously worked with Neymar during his time at PSG and had a good record with the Brazilian, managing the side that reached the Champions League final back in 2020 when they were narrowly defeated by Bayern Munich, before the German coach won the tournament just one year later with his current side.

The Blues ideally need to improve their creativity and goalscoring threat, having finished with 23 goals fewer than champions Manchester City due to the lacklustre effects that the likes of Romelu Lukaku have had on their frontline this season.

A player of Neymar’s quality would help Chelsea over the line in plenty of matches that they didn’t win this season, due to the Brazilian’s flair, creativity and goalscoring prowess.

With new owner Todd Boehly wanting to start life on the front foot with Chelsea fans, what better way for the American to do it by signing an iconic household name of Neymar’s calibre.

Barcelona Odds: 10/1

A return to Barcelona has reportedly been on the cards for Neymar for a while, having previously flirted with the idea of reuniting with Lionel Messi before the Argentinian’s surprise move to France having failed to negotiate a contract with the Nou Camp club.

There were reports that part of Neymar's desire to leave Barca was down to the fact that he wanted to get out of Messi’s shadow due to him being tipped as a potential Ballon d’Or winner, on top of all of the spotlight at the Nou Camp being beamed on Messi.

This could be an unlikely chance for Barcelona to re-sign the Brazilian who famously won the treble with them under the management of Luis Enrique back in the 2014/15 season amongst the eight major honours he helped his old club achieve.

Neymar is priced at 10/1 to return to Barcelona this summer.

Newcastle United Odds: 14/1

Newcastle United can never be ruled out of a big signing nowadays due to the financial clout that they have following their takeover by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.

A marquee signing of this ilk could ultimately change the perception of the club in the eyes of current household names by raising their notoriety and further boosting the ambition of the already attractive project that is taking place at St James’ Park.

Newcastle will be hoping to push up the table once again in the upcoming campaign as they impressively did upon Eddie Howe’s arrival, as in reality, it should only be a matter of time before the Magpies qualify for Europe and start competing at the highest levels.

Neymar is priced at 14/1 to sign for Newcastle in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Real Madrid Odds: 14/1

Real Madrid are never far away from a Galactico signing, and having missed out on Kylian Mbappe this summer, there is the possibility that they could go all out for Neymar due to his rumoured availability.

In recent seasons, Real have made moves for the likes of Eden Hazard and co, and with the likes of Gareth Bale and Isco’s contracts expiring in the near future, they will be looking to reinforce with some added creativity, of which Neymar would provide that.

Despite playing for Barcelona, a move for the Brazilian can’t be ruled out, especially when looking back at the Luis Figo transfer saga back in 2000.

Real are priced at 14/1 to acquire Neymar from PSG.

Bayern Munich Odds: 16/1

Bayern Munich are also in the fray for Neymar, as Julian Nagelsmann’s men look to add to their squad in the hope of challenging on all fronts once again next season.

With Lewandowski reportedly set to leave Bayern for Barcelona, there is every chance that the Bavarian club could turn to Neymar due there not being many striker options on the market.

Neymar can play all across the front three, having started as a striker at Santos in his younger days and has superb link-up play, something that could appeal to Nagelsmann if he is to use the ‘false 9’ setup that served him so well during his time at RB Leipzig.

Neymar is priced at 16/1 to trade the Parc des Princes for the Allianz Arena.

Manchester United Odds: 16/1

The final team to be included on this list of clubs that have shown interest in Neymar is Manchester United, with the Red Devils often being famed throughout the Ed Woodward era of signing marquee signings regardless of them being a good fit at the club.

Rumours have often circulated that PSG are keeping a close eye on Marcus Rashford’s contract situation and reported unhappiness at Old Trafford. With that in mind, could there be a swap deal involving Neymar and Rashford?

It would be somewhat a surprise if Erik ten Hag wanted a forward that isn’t well known for high pressing, although United have often gone for signings based on commercial value rather than functionality in recent years.

United are priced at 16/1 to take Neymar to Old Trafford.
