Paul Pogba Next Club Odds

It wouldn’t be a proper transfer window without some speculation surrounding the future of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman has been heavily inked with a move away from Old Trafford for the past two years, with such rumours now falling on deaf hears of the club’s supporters.

However, this time it feels different. Pogba is no longer identified as an ‘undroppable’ figure amongst the United ranks, and the team are operating well without him. Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek have become instant fan favourites, filling that Pogba-shaped hole in the middle of the park.

The 27-year-old's contract expires in 2022, meaning if he wishes to depart, next summer is the pivotal time for the Red Devils to cash in. With January looming though, could they make a decision early on to fund their long-aspired target Jadon Sancho? We've looked at SkyBet's prices for Pogba's next club odds in January.

Mino Raiola stirs the pot

Mino Raiola is known for his media tactics and the exploitation of outlets, to help bumper up each of his client's transfer values.

The Italian has recently not just tempted the idea of Pogba potentially leaving Old Trafford, but instead all but publicly confirmed it.

Speaking to Tuttosport, the super agent stated: “It’s pointless beating around the bush. Better to be straight up, look ahead and not waste any time looking for scapegoats. Paul is unhappy at Manchester United. He isn’t performing as he’d like and as we expect. He has to move, he has to change scenery... I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United."

As mentioned, Pogba's current deal expires in 2022, meaning the club have around 12 months to try and recuperate the £87million they shelled out back in 2016.

Real Madrid the favourites

Zinedine Zidane's admiration of Pogba is certainly no secret.

The Frenchman has publicly praised the United midfielder on many occasions, with the latter also returning the favour. Pogba himself has admitted that it is a 'dream' to one day play for Real Madrid, a club that is continuously linked with a move for his signature.

Signing big name-stars has been a prominent feature of Florentino Pérez's tenure in Spain, and they are certainly one of few teams that could scupper the cash to get this deal over the line. United would no doubt want to recuperate the £89m they splashed out on Pogba, leaving few possible destinations for the player to depart too.

Madrid certainly fit this bill, and their midfield is in need of a revamp. Luka Modric is now 35, James Rodriguez left in the summer and Isco looks destined to follow suit too. Could they make a January offer? They initially opened up with odds of 8/1 to sign Pogba, but this has quickly dropped off to 4/1.

Such a fall in price came on the back of Raiola's comments, with many punters perhaps feeling that should the midfielder depart, the Spanish capital is his inevitable destination.

PSG Odds to sign Pogba

If only a select few clubs can pull off a transfer for Pogba, PSG are certainly one of them.

The French club changed the face of the transfer market forever back in 2017, through their £200m capturing of Neymar, to which they showcased that no deal is beyond their means. It was also symbolic of the board's intent to challenge for the Champions League, and their desire to stand tall amongst the rest in Europe.

Although their hunt for such success has not yet materialised, Nasser Al-Khelaifi will continue to invest until it does. Is Pogba the final piece to the jigsaw? He may not be the sole answer, but his raw technical talent is a desirable trait that PSG will not overlook, should he become available.

His odds of 10/1 may be larger than many initially expected, particularly given the new wage cap in La Liga. If any club is best placed to swoop in half-way through a season, it is PSG.

Pogba odds to join Juventus

At the end of November, the third name on SkyBet's list were Juventus at 14/1.

Pogba departed the Italian club back in 2016, after four successful years in Turin. Juventus is where the midfielder rose to stardom, flourishing in an expansive system that played to his attacking strengths.

Deployed in a midfield three, Pogba was accompanied by the legendary Andrea Pirlo, the man currently in charge of the Serie A side. Would the head-coach be keen for a reunion? Everyone involved with the club has always continued to sign the Frenchman's praises, with Claudio Marchisio recently taking to Twitter to advocate the player rejoining.

Although the Italians would no doubt welcome back Pogba with open arms, their financial capabilities to do so must be questioned. Any big money recruit in recent years has often been met with a senior departure, not to mention that Cristiano Ronaldo costs a fair bit to maintain on an annual basis.

However, they have since been backed in, at the time of writing, to 6/1. Raiola's publicity stunt was always going to shift the markets, but this price makes them the second favourite to sign Pogba in January, and they aren't too far behind Madrid.

They are certainly ones to watch.

More Paul Pogba Odds

Moving beyond the top three, and some big prices pop up in SkyBet's market.

Inter Milan currently have odds of 18/1 to sign Pogba in January - could Christian Eriksen be used in a potential exchange + money offer? The Dane has recently been linked with a move away, and it is potentially the only way that Antonio Conte's side could pull off such a deal.

Barcelona and Manchester City also make an appearance, both sharing the largest price at 33/1.

The former are currently in poor form, with pressure already mounting on Ronald Koeman. Barca's squad has began to stagnate, and their play has seriously deteriorated. Pogba could inject some creativity, but the club are unlikely to invest. The new wage cap being introduced to La Liga is likely to prompt sales, not recruits.

As for City, they can rarely ever be ruled out of any deal, but this transfer would seem very far-fetched. Not many make the crossover from the red side of Manchester to the blue, and vice-versa - surely United would rather run down the player's price, over selling to their noisy neighbours.

The Citizen's big odds are no doubt justified.
