Arsenal are the favourite to sign Ruben Neves this summer and with the departure of Dani Ceballos and the Gunners themselves during a rebuild, the midfielder would be the perfect replacement and man to move forward with. Neves, 24, is the same age as the Spaniard, but he has proven to be a better fit in the Premier League compared to Ceballos and would show the direction Arsenal are moving in.
However, this move depends on whether the Gunners will pursue Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid as this will most likely take a chunk out of their transfer budget. A move for the Portuguese midfielder will also depend on where Mikel Arteta sees the future of Joe Willock who has had a great second half the season while on loan at Newcastle scoring eight goals in 14 appearances for the Toon Army.
So, a move for Neves will only be likely if Arteta views Willock as unnecessary for the upcoming season, and given how Neves could still argue a place at other Europa league-competing sides, it won't be incredibly easy for Arsenal to get this over the line.
He is 11/4 to join Arsenal.
