Accrington Stanley vs AFC Wimbledon

Two mid-table sides come face to face this weekend in the 9th round of League One games this season. Following promotion, Accrington Stanley have performed admirably and currently sit in 10th place, while their visitors Wimbledon are a further three points behind in 16th place. Both sides come into the game in mixed form, with each side just winning one of their last five matches in the competition. Stanley are just three points behind the play-off places and a win will give them a much needed boost after drawing four of their last five. The visitors are looking to improve their league form having lost four of their last five and ease the early relegation fears.

Recommend Bet: Accrington to win at 7/5 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Barnsley VS Burton Albion

Two of the three relegated sides from last season meet this weekend as 3rd placed Barnsley entertain 14th Burton Albion. The hosts have been really impressive following their relegation and have kept it really tight at the back for the most part conceding just five goals from their 8 matches, the joint lowest in the division. It’s a much different story for Albion having just picked up 10 points from their 8 matches including four defeats. When the two met last season they each one the away game respectively.

Recommended Bet: Barnsley win at 4/7 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Blackpool vs Luton Town

Two teams with similar positions in the table meet this weekend as 9th place Blackpool host 11th Luton.  The visitors have performed on the whole well following their promotion to League One having won 3 of their 8 matches to sit on 10 points from their first 8. Blackpool have also started well and are just 2 points off of the play-off places with just one defeat to their name so far, winning three. The hosts are one of the form sides in the league having collected 11 points from their last five meetings while Luton have won three of their last five to be in fine shape for their long trip up to Blackpool.

Recommended Bet: Both teams to score yes at 3/4 with Ladbrokes – BET HERE

Two up, Two down

Bristol Rovers vs Coventry City

Struggling Bristol Rovers host a mid-table Coventry City this weekend as they look to kick start their season following a really slow start which has seen them win just one game. The away side one promotion to the division last season by beating Exeter City in the play-off final at Wembley, but haven’t had it all their own so far amassing 11 points from their 8 matches. They do, however come into this one on the back of some brilliant recent form having won their last matches to help propel them up the table. Bristol has found it really tough in front of goal and have netted just five times in their 8 games something which is going to need to change if they are to be competitive this term.

Recommended Bet: 1-1 draw at 11/2 with Coral – BET HERE

Charlton Athletic vs Plymouth Argyle

7th placed Charlton host bottom Plymouth this weekend as both sides look to build on recent results. The away side are the only side in the division to pick up a victory having only claimed three draws in their 8 matches. As for Charlton, they sit just one point off the play-off places having won four of their opening 8 matches. The London club have also won their last three on the bounce compared to Argyle’s run of three defeats in their last four. The away side have found tough in front of goal this season scoring just four times so far which is a league low and something which is going to have to change if they are to make it out of trouble.

Recommended Bet: Lyle Taylor to score first at 4/1 with Betfair – BET HERE

Doncaster Rovers vs Bradford City

High flying Doncaster host a lowly Bradford this weekend as they look to continue their form at the top of the table. After 8 matches they are joint 3rd in table level with Barnsley, Sunderland and Walsall. It’s been a much different story for Bradford as they have lost six of their opening 8 games to have only secured six points to date. Rovers form has dipped a little in their last five winning just two across that spell, while Bradford have really struggled losing their last four on the bounce in the competition.

Recommended Bet: John Marquis to score first at 7/2 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Gillingham vs Peterborough

Two sides with very mixed starts to the season meet this weekend as 20th Gillingham host Peterborough. The hosts have begun very poorly picking up just 7 points from their 8 matches including 5 defeats across that time. It’s been a much different start for the visitors as they have won 6 of their first 8 to be placed on 19 points and just one behind top of the table Portsmouth. Peterborough suffered their first defeat of the season last time out, so will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to Gillingham. The recent form of the hosts hasn’t been much to write home about with them losing four of their last five which sees them out of relegation by just one point.

Recommended Bet: Peterborough to win the first half at 6/5 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Oxford United vs Walsall

Another struggling side, Oxford entertain an impressive Walsall this weekend as they look to turn their poor start to the season around. They’ve won just once this season which has seen them fall to 23rd in the table and only make 5 points from their opening 8 matches. It’s been a different story for the visitors, Walsall as they’ve made a fine start winning half of their opening 8 matches to see them on 15 points. They are, however without a win in their last three so this is something which they will be looking to put right when they make the trip to Oxford. The hosts have been leaking goals, the most in the division and this is something which they are going to have to turn around if they want to get out of safety.

Recommended Bet: Walsall draw no bet at 5/4 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Portsmouth vs Wycombe Wanderers

Top of the table Portsmouth host a struggling Wycombe side this weekend as they aim to keep their fine start to the season going this weekend. The South Coast club are the only team in the league yet to taste defeat and have picked up 20 points from their opening 8 matches. It’s  been a much worse for the away side as they sit just outside of the bottom 4 in 19th position on 7 points and just one win from their 8 matches. Their form has been extremely mixed to-date picking up six points from their last five. As for Pompey they have won three of their last five matches in the league.

Recommended Bet: Portsmouth to win 3-0 at 12/1 with Ladbrokes – BET HERE

Scunthorpe Vs Shrewsbury Town

Two sides who have had very similar starts to the season meet this weekend as 15th placed Scunthorpe host 17th Shrewsbury Town.  Both teams have found it really tough to date with just three wins between them from their 8 games each. The hosts are three points ahead of their visitors despite there being just two places between them in the table. Shrewsbury have kept it very tight at the back, but have also struggled in front of goal with just 15 goals being scored in their 8 matches compared to 30 in the games including Scunthorpe.

Recommended Bet: Shrewsbury to win at 7/5 with William Hill – BET HERE

Southend United vs Fleetwood Town

Two sides who have begun their respective seasons very differently come up against each other this weekend as Fleetwood Town visit Southend United. The visitors are currently in 8th place on 13 points and have begun strongly, but for Southend they have just 7 points from their opening 8 matches. The form of the hosts is very worrying having lost four of their last five matches in League One. As for Fleetwood they are unbeaten in their last five and will be looking to continue that this weekend.

Recommended Bet: Simon Cox to be the last goal scorer at 5/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Sunderland vs Rochdale

And the final match of League One this weekend is at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland host Rochdale. Following their relegation last term the hosts have begun well sitting in 4th position while Rochdale have had an indifferent start to the new season as they are placed in 13th. The hosts have won two of their last five and have overall won half of their games in the competition. It’s been very different for the visitors; they have picked up 11 points from their 8 matches which has included 3 defeats as they find themselves in mid-table.

Recommended Bet: Sunderland are 21/20 to win with SkyBet – BET HERE
