Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur

We have a mouth-watering day of derbies on our hands this Sunday in the Premier League. The second game sees Arsenal welcoming fierce North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates Stadium for the 196th North London derby

This is set up to be one of the most exciting North London derbies in recent years with both teams playing well and just three points separating them in the table. Both teams won their home derby last season, but Arsenal’s only have one win in the last six editions of this fixture.

Arsenal are enjoying life under Unai Emery, looking solid prospects to reach the top four in what could be one of the most competitive battles for top four in recent years. Arsenal are currently in fifth position, but just one point behind Chelsea and just three points behind Tottenham in third as things stand. Unbelievably, the Gunners are now on a mammoth run of 18 games unbeaten, not losing since their clash with Chelsea all the way back in August. They come into this one having won their last league game, beating Bournemouth 2-1 away from home thanks to Aubameyang’s second-half winner.

The Gunners were also in Europa League action during the week, beating Vorskla 3-0 away from home to stay top of their group with a three-point gap going into their last game. Arsenal have only won one North London derby in their last six attempts but that was this fixture last season. They are 13/4 with Marathon to win this one.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in red-hot form for Arsenal at the moment, racking up eight goals for the season and adding to that total with the winner last time out. The Gabon international is 5/1 with Sky Bet to open the scoring here. Alexandre Lacazette has five for the season and he is 6/4 with Black Type to score at any time. Three of Arsenal’s last four games have ended up being score draws and with this one expected to be a tight game, that could be a good market to back. Betvictor are offering 17/5 on a score draw.

Harry Kane Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are in fine form themselves, leapfrogging London rivals Chelsea to climb into third place last weekend. Spurs put on their best performance of the season to dismantle Chelsea at home, beating the Blues 3-1 to make third place their own. That was Tottenham’s third-straight win in the league and they head into the North London derby in high spirits. Though, energy levels may be wavering following a week that has seen them place Chelsea and Inter Milan in just a matter of days. Tottenham are also only three points behind second placed Liverpool as things stand, so they will be hoping to continue their winning form to keep up the pressure this weekend.

In the Champions League, Tottenham scored late through Christian Eriksen to pick up a huge 1-0 win over Inter Milan during the week. That win keeps Spurs in the hunt, but they will likely have to beat Barcelona at Camp Nou to progress through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. They are, at the very least, guaranteed a spot in the Europa League knockout stage.

Tottenham have won two of the last three North London derbies, including a 1-0 win in the last game between these two sides. However, they haven’t won at the Emirates since 2010. They are priced at 10/3 with Bet365 to end that run with a win this weekend, or 17/5 with Bet Victor to draw. Harry Kane again leads the scoring for Spurs this season, scoring seven times and he is 37/10 with Unibet to open the scoring here. Christian Eriksen scored last time out and he is 7/2 with Betfair to score at any point in this one.
