Aston Villa vs Stoke

Dean Smith’s Aston Villa take on Gary Rowett’s Stoke in an eye-catching match between two former Premier League regulars with hopes of getting back into the top-flight via the playoff route this term. Villa are eighth and Stoke are tenth – meaning the winner would set themselves up for an impressive winter schedule and potentially a place in the top-six come the turn of the new year. The sides last met in the Premier League, with Stoke winning both the reverse tie and the corresponding tie – and the Potters are a big price of 27/10 with Betfair to win for the third time, whilst the hosts are a nice price at evens with Unibet and the draw is 11/4 with Betway.

Recommended bet: Tammy Abraham to score first @ 7/2 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Blackburn vs Birmingham

Blackburn play Birmingham at Ewood Park this weekend as the hosts look to extend their good run at home to four-straight matches undefeated. The Midlands-based side have impressed as of late after a tough start and find themselves in ninth – with Garry Monk’s men knowing a win here could get them one step closer to cementing a spot in the playoffs. The sides last met in early 2017, with a 1-1 draw in the corresponding tie and a 1-0 win for Birmingham in the reverse tie back in 2016. The hosts are 7/5 to get the three points here with Unibet, whilst the visitors are an attractive 21/10 with Betway and the draw is 9/4 with William Hill.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score @ 4/5 with William Hill – BET HERE

Bolton vs Leeds

Bolton take on Leeds in a battle of the former Premier League sides on Saturday afternoon as second-bottom in the second-tier take on promotion contenders Leeds at the Macron Stadium. The hosts are in horrendous form after a poor season last time out and four wins in 21 matches is demonstrative of that, but a win here could trigger a steady end to the year and that will be the minimum expectation on home soil. However, Leeds stand in their way and having won four-straight matches, the promotion and title hopefuls are in prime position to finally get back into the top-flight. The hosts are under pressure and their big price of 19/4 with Unibet suggests they do not have much chance. United are 2/3 with William Hill and the draw is 11/4 with Bet Victor.

Recommended bet: Leeds to win 2-1 @ 8/1 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Hull vs Brentford

18th plays 19th in a huge fixture in the 22nd round of the Championship calendar on Saturday afternoon as Brentford make their second away trip of the season to take on a Hull side who are undefeated in their last three – having played three top sides in league leaders Norwich, QPR and Millwall. The sides know each other well and last met back in May of last season, with the reverse match ending 1-1 and the corresponding match ending 3-2 to the hosts. Hull are 17/10 with William Hill to achieve the same result, whilst Brentford are a big 8/5 with Unibet and the draw is 5/2 with Bet Victor.

Recommended bet: Under 2.5 goals @ 13/11 with Unibet – BET HERE

Ipswich vs Wigan

The Tractor Boys take on the Latics in a huge tie for both sides on Saturday, but the hosts are the team who are now in dire straits – with a loss here potentially leaving them 11 points adrift of the sides around them and staring relegation to the third-tier in the face. The visitors aren’t much better and currently find themselves in 16th after being crowned as League One Champions last term, but two draws and a win from their last four matches has shown signs of progress – but a recent 1-0 loss against Derby will be something they must bounce back from. The hosts are 2/1 with Bet Victor to win, whilst the visitors are an attractive 7/5 with Betway and the draw is 11/5 with Unibet.

Recommended bet: Wigan double chance @ 2/5 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Preston vs Millwall

The eye-catching Preston come into every match looking to outscore their opponents and this weekend will be no different against a Millwall side who don’t travel very well and haven’t done so for the past two seasons. The hosts earned a brilliant 1-0 win over seventh place Nottingham Forest last time out, whilst the visitors have recorded back-to-back draws and they’ll be looking for maximum points here to get them away from their uneasy position of 21st. The hosts are an attractive even money favourite with Betfair, whilst the visitors are 11/4 with Bet365 and the draw is 12/5 with Bet Victor.

Recommended bet: Over 2.5 goals @ evens with William Hill – BET HERE

QPR vs Middlesbrough

QPR play Middlesbrough at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon as the 14th place hosts look for their first win in five matches in order to get themselves up the table. However, in order to propel themselves up the league, they must first overcome the task of the impressive Middlesbrough. Arguably this week is the best time to play the Boro, especially considering they have dropped into sixth and are without a win in three matches. The visitors have won the last three meetings, but this one could be a tough one to call with neither side in form and the draw at 21/10 with Betway is a bet we like. The hosts are 19/10 with William Hill and the visitors are 8/5 with Unibet.

Recommended bet: Match to be drawn @ 21/10 with Betway – BET HERE

Rotherham vs Reading

The Millers take on the Royals on Saturday afternoon in a pivotal Championship clash for both sides ahead of a hectic winter schedule. Rotherham are in 20th and Reading are in the relegation zone in 22nd – with a win for either side likely to take them away from the dreaded drop zone. The sides know each other well, but their last meeting was back in early 2017, with Reading running out 2-1 winners in the reverse tie and the visitors here running out 1-0 winners in the corresponding match. The hosts are evens with Bet365 to win here, whilst the visitors are 5/2 with the same bookmaker and the draw is 27/11 with Unibet.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score @ 3/5 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Swansea vs Sheffield Wednesday

Swansea take on Sheffield Wednesday at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon as 12th plays 17th in the 22nd instalment of the second-tier calendar. The hosts won last time out, beating Brentford 3-2 on the road – sweeping aside their woes of a three-game losing streak prior to that. Wednesday are without a win in two matches, but a 2-2 draw with Rotherham last time out will be something they’ll be looking to build on come kick-off this weekend. The hosts are 3/4 with Unibet to run out victorious, whilst the draw is 27/10 with William Hill and the visitors are a nice price at 10/3 with Betway.

Recommended bet: Swansea to win and BTTS @ 11/4 with SkyBet – BET HERE

Derby vs Nottingham Forest

Monday night Championship action comes from Pride Park as Frank Lampard’s Derby take on Nottingham Forest in the curtain closer of round 22 of the Championship schedule this weekend. The match is easily the tie of the weekend in the second-tier between fourth and seventh in the table and both sides will need the three points here if they hope to continue their pursuit of the top two in the table. The Rams have won back-to-back matches, whilst Forest will need to bounce back from a shock 1-0 defeat to Preston on home soil last time out. The hosts are the favourites here at evens with William Hill, whilst the draw is 5/2 with Unibet and the visitors are the underdogs are 3/1 with Betfair.

Recommended bet: Harry Wilson to score first @ 17/2 with Paddy Power – BET HERE
