Championship Round-Up: 24/11/2018

Hull vs Nottingham Forest

The Championship returns this weekend and the first game of our round-up sees Hull City take on Nottingham Forest. Hull have struggled this season, finding themselves sat 22nd but went into the international break off the back of picking up two wins and a draw in their last three games. They now take on a Nottingham Forest side that are currently unbeaten in their previous four league outings and are just one point and place off the play-offs. Hull’s recent strong form sees them favoured here at 29/20 with Bet365, while Forest can be backed at 15/8 with William Hill.

Leeds vs Bristol City

Leeds United will be looking to bounce back from their heavy defeat to West Brom when they face Bristol City at Elland Road on Saturday. Marcelo Bielsa will have been livid with his side’s performance at The Hawthorns which saw them go into the international break third in the table, three points behind leaders Norwich City. Meanwhile, Bristol City are currently on a three-game losing streak and have dropped to 13th in the Championship table as a result. As such, it’s no surprise to see Leeds favoured to win here at 4/6 with Bet365, while Bristol City are best-priced at 54/13 with Unibet.

Bolton have lost each of their last four games in the Championship, failing to score in each of those defeats. Millwall are favourites at 6/10 with William Hill, with Bolton being the outsiders at 5/1 with BetVictor.

Preston vs Blackburn

Preston will be looking to continue their resurgent form when they take on local rivals Blackburn Rovers at Deepdale. Alex Neil has seen his team go unbeaten in each of their last seven games in the Championship, a run which has helped them climb out of the bottom three and up to 18th in the table. Blackburn have suffered just one defeat in their last six games in the Championship and continue to impress since winning promotion, now sitting 9th. Struggling Sheffield Wednesday will look to get a much-needed three points when they take on Derby County at Hillsborough this weekend. The Owls lost four straight games in the Championship prior to their 0-0 draw against Sheffield United last time out, a result which leaves them 17th in the table. Derby have been amongst the most impressive teams in the Championship this season, though they will be keen to bounce back from what was a disappointing 3-0 loss to Aston Villa last time out. Stoke vs QPR

Two teams riddled with inconsistency meet this Saturday, as Stoke City play host to Queens Park Rangers. Stoke remain 14th in the Championship table coming into this weekend after winning just one of their last five league outings, drawing each of their last two 0-0. Steve McClaren’s QPR have been in far better form coming into this one, with a run of four wins in five and five from seven in total helping them climb up to 10th in the table. Still, it is Stoke who are the favourites here at 21/20 with Paddy Power, with QPR available at 3/1 with SkyBet.

Swansea vs Norwich

Table-toppers Norwich City will aim to continue their surprising rise in the Championship when they travel to face Swansea City this weekend. Graham Potter’s Swansea are in a decent run of form themselves, heading into the international break off the back of a run of three wins from four league games. However, they face a Norwich side that have won each of their last five games in a row, losing just once in the league in their previous 12 games, a run which began in September. Swansea are still favoured here at 6/4 with BetVictor, with Norwich priced at a valuable 9/5 with Betway.

Finally, we conclude this week’s round-up with Wigan Athletic’s clash with Reading. The Latics made a positive start to the new season but have since hit a rough patch, losing each of their previous four games in the Championship.
