Fulham vs West Ham United

Two London teams square off at Craven Cottage this weekend, as Fulham play host to West Ham United. The hosts will be looking to shake off a heavy defeat to Manchester United last weekend against the Hammers, who themselves are playing in their second successive London derby, having beaten Crystal Palace at the London Stadium last time out.

Fulham are still conceding goals at an alarming rate and Claudio Ranieri needs to somehow find a solution to their defensive problems if they are to avoid going straight back down to the Championship. The Cottagers shipped four goals at Manchester United last weekend, meaning they have now conceded a huge 40 goals in just 16 games – averaging 2.5 goals allowed per match. Ranieri has seen his team pick up four points from four games since arriving, letting in nine goals in the process, with all of their points coming at Craven Cottage.

The fact they are picking up points at home is an encouraging sign for the newly-promoted outfit and they will look to take the momentum from recent results into this contest. Fulham beat Southampton in Ranieri’s opening game, before drawing 1-1 with his former club Leicester in their previous home encounter. One win for Fulham could move them level on points with the likes of Burnley and Crystal Palace if results can go their way, with the team facing a huge December that features games against Newcastle, Wolves and Huddersfield. Fulham are the outsiders in this contest at 19/10 with Bet365.

West Ham are beginning to build some momentum under Manuel Pellegrini and can be one of the more exciting attacking teams to watch on their day in the Premier League. Last weekend they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at the London Stadium, thanks to goals from Robert Snodgrass, Javier Hernandez and Felipe Anderson in the second half. The form of Chicharito has been particularly surprising, with the striker now scoring four goals in his last six appearances and is 7/4 to score anytime with Unibet this weekend. The victory was West Ham’s third in a row in the Premier League and the team have scored three goals in each of those wins.

The Hammers now come into this game with real confidence, having now climbed to 11th in the table. Another victory this weekend would likely see them move into the top 10, which was surely the target for Pellegrini at the start of the season. They have even been able to do so in the absence of Marko Arnautovic through injury, with Brazilian midfielder Felipe Anderson currently looking like arguably the best player West Ham have had since Dimitri Payet. With the form on their side, West Ham are favourites to pick up three points from this fixture and can be backed at 17/11 with Unibet to win a fourth successive Premier League game.
