Huesca vs Real Madrid

Primera Liga basement side Huesca host Real Madrid on Sunday with Los Blancos looking to keep in touch with league leaders Barcelona. The home side has only won one game so far this season, away to Eibar on the opening day and no-one really gives them any hope against the Madrid giants this weekend, who are 3/10 on Bet365 to claim all three points. Sunday’s fixture is the first ever meeting between the two clubs with Huesca gaining promotion to the top-flight from the Segunda division last season.

Having spent three seasons in the Spanish second-tier, Huesca finally reached the promised land last May after finishing the campaign in second place. It’s been a real baptism of fire for the club from Aragon who were only formed in 1960 and coach Francisco is struggling to keep the sides head above water in the top tier. Having only scored 12 goals so far this term, Huesca has the second worst goals for column in the Primera Liga and has already shipped eight goals at the Camp Nou against Barcelona. Bet365 are offering odds of 1/1 for only one team to score on Sunday and there are no prizes for guessing who that is.

Midfielder Alex Gallar is the club’s current top marksman with three with Huesca’s forward-line having only scored two goals between them. Francisco’s side are yet to keep a clean-sheet this term and last weekend they were beaten 2-0 at Celta Vigo before shipping another four goals in their Copa del Rey defeat to Athletic Bilbao on Thursday.

After their horror show in Eibar, Real Madrid looked to have got back on track with three consecutive wins against Valencia in the league, Roma in the Champions League and minnows Melilla in the Copa del Rey. Having already lost five of their opening 14 league games, it’s a testament to the unpredictability of the Spanish top-flight this season, that Santiago Solari’s men are still only five points from the summit.

The 3-0 reverse in Eibar is Solari’s only defeat since taking over from Julen Lopetegui but the Spanish tactician will want to see more from some of his star names ahead of their trip to the UAE to defend their Club World Cup crown. Lucas Vazquez has scored two in his last two appearances and Skybet have him at 15/8 to be on target at the Estadio El Alcoraz on Sunday. Despite having only scored three league goals so far this season, Skybet offer odds of 5/6 for Gareth Bale to add to his tally this weekend.
