Iraq vs Argentina

A one-sided looking affair kicks off our round-up of international friendlies, with Iraq taking on Argentina on Thursday night. Iraq have managed just one win in their last five internationals, with that coming in a 3-0 victory over Palestine, but are unbeaten in four. They come up against an Argentina side that is in transition, with Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Gonzalo Higuain having all been left out of the squad once again. As such, Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi will again be handed the keys in attack, as they look to improve on a run of just two wins in six since the start of the World Cup. Iraq are the heavy underdogs in this contest and can be backed at 25/1 with Betfred, while Argentina’s price is especially low, being best-priced at 1/8 with SkyBet.

Recommended bet: Mauro Icardi to score first at 13/5 with BetVictor – BET HERE

Wales vs Spain

Ryan Giggs will face his toughest assessment as Wales boss so far when his team take on Spain in Cardiff on Thursday evening. Their challenge has only been made tougher by the absence of Gareth Bale, who looks set to miss out through injury. Wales will be looking to bounce back from defeat in this contest, having lost 2-0 to Denmark in their previous outing in the Nations League. Meanwhile, Spain will be hoping to build on the positive start made under Luis Enrique. They began with a 2-1 win away to England, before dismantling World Cup runners-up Croatia 6-0 in an eye-catching result. Those performances have left them as heavy favourites to come out on top here at 2/5 with Bet365, with those who are bullish about the Welsh chances can get 9/1 on a home win with BetVictor.

France vs Iceland

World champions France take on Iceland this week in what is a repeat of the Euro 2016 quarter-final. The hosts came out on top on that occasion, winning 5-2 in one of the more exciting games of that European Championship thanks to a brace from Olivier Giroud, as well as strikes from Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann. All four scorers that day are in this French squad and will look to continue France’s 13-match unbeaten run at international level. They enjoyed a successful start to the Nations League, drawing 0-0 away in Germany before beating Netherlands 2-1, although their opponents can’t say the same thing. Iceland have virtually been eliminated from the tournament already, after opening their campaign with a 6-0 thrashing away to Switzerland, before Belgium cruised to a 3-0 in Reykjavik. Thursday could be a case of damage limitation for Iceland, who are the outsiders at 16/1 with Coral, William Hill and Ladbrokes. That leaves France as the overwhelming favourites and they are best-priced to win at 2/9 with Bet365.

Recommended bet: France HT/France FT at 4/6 with Ladbrokes – BET HERE
