League Two Round-Up: 29/09/2018

Carlisle vs Stevenage

Fifth meets tenth in the first game of our League Two round-up, with the home side looking to potentially break into the top three with a victory. Carlisle have won three of their last four home games in League Two and are favourites to win here at 6/5 with Bet365. They will hope to inflict more away misery on Stevenage, who are outsiders at 5/2 with BetVictor, who have failed to win any of their last four matches on the road.

Recommended bet: Carlisle win at 6/5 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Cheltenham vs Lincoln

Cheltenham face a huge task to try and upset top-of-the-table Lincoln at the weekend, with Danny Cowley’s side in excellent form coming into this one. Cheltenham are struggling down in 18th and have just one win in their last six games, whereas Lincoln have a three-point lead at the top after winning back-to-back matches. Cheltenham win is 3/1 with SkyBet, but we favour Lincoln, who are priced at 10/11 with Bet365.

Recommended bet: Lincoln win at 10/11 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Colchester vs Bury

High-flying Colchester will be looking to add three points to their tally when they face mid-table Bury this weekend. The Essex club are on the cusp of the top three and currently sit 4th in the table, following three wins from their last four games at home. Bury have improved of late, winning three of their last four matches in League Two and are 12/5 with Bet365 here, though Colchester are favoured at 5/4 with William Hill.

Recommended bet: Colchester win to nil at 3/1 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Crawley vs Yeovil

Crawley will be hoping to extend their recent upturn in form, with the team winning three of their previous four games in all competitions. That said, they will have their work cut out against a Yeovil side who currently occupy the play-off places in League Two. Crawley are slight favourites at 7/5 with SkyBet, while Yeovil are 9/5 with Unibet. We think the two will cancel each other out.

Recommended bet: Draw at 9/4 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Grimsby vs Morecambe

A relegation six-pointer will take place at Blundell Park this weekend, with Grimsby hosting Morecambe. There is just one point and place separating these two teams in the League Two table at this moment in time, with Grimsby 22nd with five points, while Morecambe are 21st with six points. Home advantage sees Grimsby favoured at 5/4 with BetVictor, while Bet365 are offering 13/5 on a Morecambe victory.

Recommended bet: Both teams to score YES at 4/5 with Betfair – BET HERE

MK Dons vs Tranmere

Draw specialists MK Dons and Tranmere face each other at Stadium MK this weekend, as both teams look to get the win that will see them move back into the play-off picture. These teams have been involved in a combined nine draws from 18 matches in League Two this term and this looks like being another close contest. MK Dons are 10/11 with Betfair to get the victory, while Tranmere are outsiders at 3/1 with Paddy Power.

Recommended bet: Draw at 12/5 with Betfair – BET HERE

Macclesfield vs Forest Green

Following their demolition in the League Cup in midweek, bottom of the table Macclesfield take on Forest Green Rovers in League Two this weekend. 8th-placed Forest Green will have their eyes on all three points, having lost just once all season, with that coming on penalties in the League Cup. They look terrific value to take the three points in this contest, being priced at 11/10 with Betfair to win, while Macclesfield are 3/1 with Bet365.

Recommended bet: Forest Green win at 11/10 with Betfair – BET HERE

Mansfield vs Northampton

On paper, this looks to be one of the tougher contests to call in League Two this weekend, with Mansfield slightly favoured to take all three points. That is perhaps due to the fact that only Exeter have won at the One Call Stadium in League Two so far, with the hosts difficult to beat on their own patch. Meanwhile, Northampton have won only one of their 11 games in all competitions this term, leaving them priced at 3/1 with most bookmakers including Coral, Bet365 and Betfair. Mansfield look good value at 11/10 with William Hill.

Recommended bet: Mansfield win at 11/10 with William Hill – BET HERE

Newport County vs Cambridge

Given the respective form of both teams, it’s surprising to see the markets being so close between a Newport County and Cambridge win in this clash at Rodney Parade. Newport are just above evens at 29/20 with William Hill to take home the three points, while Cambridge are 11/5 with SkyBet. With the home side currently 3rd in the table and Cambridge struggling down in 18th, we’re backing a home win in this one.

Recommended bet: Newport County win at 29/20 with William Hill – BET HERE

Notts County vs Crewe

After stopping the team’s losing run, Harry Kewell will be looking to finally get his first win as Notts County boss this weekend against Crewe. The Magpies have had a woeful start to the season and still sit second from bottom in the table, but are favoured to win this contest at 1/1 with BetVictor. That is because Crewe’s form is almost as bad, with the team winning just one of their last seven matches in League Two, failing to score in six of those and are 11/4 to win here with Coral.

Recommended bet: Draw and under 2.5 goals at 10/3 with Bet365 – BET HERE

Port Vale vs Exeter

Port Vale will be aiming to make it three wins from three this weekend when they face Exeter, as the home side look to get back into the top half of the League Two table. For them to do so, it’s going to take a huge effort as they face a Grecians outfit that has won each of their last five games in all competitions. That makes their current price of 21/10 with William Hill have plenty of value behind it, with Port Vale the favourites in this one, best priced at 13/10 with Coral, Paddy Power and Betfair.

Recommended bet: Exeter win at 21/10 with William Hill – BET HERE

Swindon vs Oldham

Finally, two sides with play-off ambitions meet this weekend, with Swindon Town taking on Oldham Athletic. With just one defeat in their last seven, Swindon are in decent form coming into this game and are only out of the play-offs on goal difference. The side currently occupying that 7th place is Oldham, who will be looking to extend their impressive record away from home, having won three and drawn one of their four games on the road, conceding only once in that time. Swindon are favourites at 17/10 with William Hill, but only narrowly over an Oldham team who are priced at 19/10 with SkyBet.

Recommended bet: Oldham draw no bet at 17/20 with William Hill – BET HERE
